Venice has a very special boat called the Gondola. The Gondola is a traditional and unique means of transportation in Venice. For hundreds of years, the Gondola has been Venice's primary mode of transport. Today, the Gondola has become a major attraction for visitors worldwide.
Gondolas are entirely handcrafted, with black hulls, highly arched prows and sterns, resembling a crescent moon. The prow features a unique row of steel teeth, and this design carries the symbolic meaning of Venice. and this design carries the symbolic meaning of Venice. The tops of these steel teeth resemble the hat of a Venetian Doge, while below, there are six steel teeth, representing Venice's six administrative districts. Another steel tooth represents the seventh administrative district.
The Gondola's decor is gorgeous, featuring exquisite carvings and gilding. The seats are upholstered with satin or silk, some even have leather seats, showcasing Italian style. Without further delay, we've already reached the Gondola dock. Come on board!
When you visit the City of Water, you must try the traditional Gondola.
The gondoliers who steer the Gondolas typically wear black-and-white or red-and-white sailor attire, complete with straw hats adorned with ribbons. In the blink of an eye, we have navigated from the Grand Canal into a maze of narrow waterways, shuttling between various narrow canals. Sitting so close to the water's surface, the surrounding buildings seem exceptionally tall, creating a powerful visual impact!
Enjoying Venice from the calm waters is also quite fun.
The waterways here are exceptionally narrow, and sometimes, we even encounter other boats nearby. Our gondolier skillfully maneuvers the boat, making for a fast and smooth ride. Wow, this waterway is incredibly narrow! We pass under another small bridge.
Passing under the bridge, we come across a red-colored building, which surprisingly turns out to be the famous Hotel Danieli. The movie "The Tourist" features a detailed scene here, showcasing the luxurious decor of the Danieli Hotel and its five-star hotel service. This movie is a 2010 action comedy starring the big celebrities Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. The film features many interesting scenes all shot on location in Venice.
Now, we are on the largest canal in Venice. In a moment, we will pass through the Rialto Bridge. The structure you see ahead is the Rialto Bridge. It was the first bridge built by the people of Venice. Alright, now we are sitting in a Gondola, crossing under the Rialto Bridge.
The Grand Canal serves as Venice's primary traffic artery, providing access to many famous attractions. After crossing the Rialto Bridge, we sailed on the Grand Canal for a while, and our gondolier took us back into the narrow city streets. Venetian buildings are built right on the water, making it seem like they're floating. Essentially, just step out of front door, you can jump into the sea for a swim. Or extend a fishing rod from your window, even fishing from your bed is possible! That could be really fun! But Venetian law prohibits this due to its impact on water traffic.
Here, there are two bridges. We are currently passing under one of them. This is a very narrow, narrow canal. There are many waterways here, and even more small bridges. These bridges are very close to the water surface, and some private bridges are right in front of people's homes. They simply open their doors and step onto the bridge.
People on the bridge look at us as if they're enjoying the view, and we look at them as if they're part of a painting. The orange light in the restaurant shines on the green leaves outside the window. No matter how you look at it, it's like a beautiful painting.
