As an expat in Italy, you can’t help but make comparisons with your home country. This is generally very positive about both countries, I’m sure there’s bad stuff about both but I like to focus in the good mostly!
Here’s the link to the Expats in Italy Facebook group! www.facebook.c...
Enjoy and let me know what you think! This video was fun to make! And it’s sunnier now finally yay!!

Hi Corrina, the last few days have been very mild, 15 degrees, sunshine. The birds are singing, the flowers blooming. I am still in awe to how hilly Perugia is. As I was staying with friends I didn't visit supermarket. I had my best pizza when I visited Napoli 3 years ago. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Your videos are a highlight of my week.

I have been to both countries with the same tour company. What did I notice?? The food was much better in Italy and they supplied an endless amount of wine. In the UK we were given one glass of wine or beer, the food? The food did not stand out!! ( found the link to your channel from Expats in Italy )

Corrina, I really enjoyed this. It is sincere and entertaining. I was wary at first because I don't usually like comparisons. But in this case it works because you obviously have a great affection for both countries. I lived for two years in England during the seventies. I also love the English humor.

Ciao Corinna.

Well, I really enjoyed spending 13 minutes of my life watching your video. You're really natural, spontaneous and very...well... charismatic and entertaining. Of course it is because I also like the English accent, by the way it would be nice if you try to speak a bit of Italian with your accent. I've been in London and other places in UK several times, you can guess how angry I'm about Brexit now, last time was for my long awaited Bovington Tank Museum visit. I'm really glad you're happy to be here, I see you live in Perugia, that's not even as warm as other places nearer to the sea could already be, especially in the Western side of Italy.

Ho visto i tuoi video e li ho gustati davvero

If you like classic Italian architecture and beaches, maybe you could visit the Riviera Ligure as soon as it will be allowed again (Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino) and the Cinque Terre (really amazing). And if you like the countryside, you are very close to one of the most beautiful countrysides in the world in Tuscany, Siena and the Val D'Orcia (Pienza, Montepulciano, it's a World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO). Also the Chianti area (closer to Florence): although the English countryside is beautiful, the area is so popular with the English upper class (many have second homes there) that it's been nicknamed "Chiantishire".

Very nice video. Probably more humorous people the further south you go. HA HA. As to the prices of food and rentals, etc., you are so right. I find it almost Unbelievable the cost and price of things in 'regular' Italy. Way inexpensive compared to some other countries, which makes no sense at all. It shows you how 'ripped off' people are getting, living in certain places. Italy isn't that way. And the quality of food, drink, and even where you live is much higher. Things are not marked up just to make easy money from people. Prices are more than fair. Says something. Also commend you for a very balanced view. You points are legit. Of course it is not exactly the same to go live in another country from where you were born, so you make a lot of sense. But I do believe you have made an outstanding choice as to where to spend much of your time. Enjoy and stay well.

Lol as an Italian who's been living in UK for almost 15 years I doubt it. That said, UK's society and economy is much more standardised meaning you'll know what you find pretty much everywhere, whilst in Italy each supermarket will change slightly...same for everything else. E.g. in each place locals will know where to get a 'healthy' quick snack or meal in the neighbourhood gastronomia, bar, pizza al taglio(by the slice), forno, etc. LOVE your videos btw

UK if far superior to Italy. Granted Italy has nice monuments and scenery but UK is far advance and more inclusive. Italy has a crumbling economy but has a high GDP which supposedly goes to a handful of families and kleptocrats/government officials. The infrastructure is poor and sub standard. It’s covered in graffiti and smells of piss. Too much homeless in Napoli, homes in rome and Napoli look ancient and dilapidated. It’s an affordable country to live in but doesn’t touch UK. If you left UK for Italy you just failed in your own country.

lol...tell that to your UK brethren who have just recently inundated Y T with videos of the decay in UK cities and towns that literally look 3rd world and make Naples look good in comparison. They're totally embarrassed by it. Italy is a top 10 in economy, military, trading nation, millionaires, wealthiest citizens in the world, #2 EU industrial power.

@@spaniardsrmoors6817ok mate if you wanna believe that good for you. I’m not gonna argue the facts. Your country is run as a kleptocracy - every house I saw in south Italy like Napoli etc was like tin sheds - Rome was disgusting too. If it weren’t for your historic sites like Emanuelle and all those other shit no one would care. The Vatican is cold and weird - shit feels borderline haunted with all those strange depictions. Pizza in Napoli and Rome was sub par from what I have in UK. Your transportation network is way behind Uk. Your military still don uniform that looks old as fuck. Your police drive shitty Alfa Romero. Speaking of police you guys have so many different types of police… and that’s not a good thing.
