ITB M30 E28 Gets a Full Exhaust and Standalone ECU Tuning | Buttoning up the Swap

This episode took me over a week to create, hence the week away, but were back with another episode of the ITB Standalone M30B35 swapped E28 528e. In this episode the e28 gets a full exhaust, a Wideband wired in, the cooling system further overhauled, and we begin street tuning! Were nearing the finish line!!

I bought two different "OEM quality" expansion tanks and both of them didn't seal completely due to the threads on the coolant level sensor. It never cooled correctly, until I found an actual BMW made expansion tank from a parts car. I noticed your expansion tank is overflowing which was the same thing that happened to mine before I replaced it with an original BMW tank.

Hey josh I was wondering if I can used that same setup on my 735i to give me more performance. Cause trying to find parts for that 92 BMW is hard to find anywhere I see that car in your videos and all the things you do to it but it been two years ago since and you may not have that car anymore but I keep searching and want give up on finding one to build up me other one thanks for your out put on BMW'S I appreciate it all👍👍🙏

I still have both my e34s! But this setup can be used on a 735i, however the power differences wont be too drastic.

@@m3nameisjosh464alright! i would not go below 12.5 on a NA engine tho. Keep it between 12.5 and 13 is my advice. Light throttle around 13.5. You will be running premium pump gas? Here we have 98 octane as a option. But mostly 95 🙂

Dunnoif its an M30 thing but sounds like your limiter is quite low. What's it rev to?

You sir have a very keen ear, and have uncovered an issue which will be addressed in the next episode. This was not so much a rev limiter but a loss in crank position signal causing full lean condition

My m20 e30 homie had the same problem with his megasquirt - couldn’t rev above 5k or so - would lose crank signal. Defective unit. Went with the superior @classicdaily turkey & cheese 1.3 motronic pnp ecu! For m20/m30. Runs Rusefifirmware that tunes with tuner studio

You should learn how to tune on your own, HPA has some awesome classes on it that makes it very easy to understand and they got some webinars on tuning ITBs Not trying to talk shit at all, don’t take my comment the wrong way, i just think you’re fully capable of learning to do all of it on your own without needing someone else to revise it you’re a smart guy
