It depends on your knowledge and experience The best way to find out if you can skip A+ is go take a practice exam and if you do good sure you can skip it. But if you are looking to land that first job in tech it is a good cert to get your foot in the door.

@@ytl7750Udemy > Dion Training Solutions has ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, and more. Even has practice exams. Courses are $15 and some change right now and are solid courses. They are broken down into manageable sized sections and articulated in a manner easy for beginners to understand. (Im a beginner learning hacking and IT stuff to get some certs for when im out of the Air Force)

Do the A+, then take your time with the other Comptia certs if you want as doing the N+ will auto renew your A+

Yes and no... You can get the security+ with out getting the A+ first but it really depends on your skill level.

my A+ knowledge made the security+ 20-30% easier than it would have been bc it builds on A+ topics. I got the CCNA and it really helped me with alot of the cyber attacks in the security exam and the firewall/ACL stuff. so that made it really easy for me. only had to watch two 10 hour courses and passes the security+

Depends on the company, if it's Healthcare of goverment, they don't quite you. But they aren't the only people needing IT work.

CompTIA A+ will definitely help you get job interviews but it won't get you the job...as for certifications after the A+ really depends on what you want to do in the field

Is it possible to apply for a retail technician job, get hired and then do the CompTIA certification after? I want to work at micro center and the requirement is you need to be A+ certified. But it says "or the ability to be certified within 90 days". I'm 18 years old and I've built my own computer and I've also worked on many laptops and consumer electronics in general

What would you suggest for someone that's been out of the field for years? It seems that getting the A+ cert would make me look a lot more current, at least on paper. My experience trumps the cert, but I last supported Win 7, and clearly, a LOT had changed.

I dont think you need the A+ get a cert more relevant to the area of work your interested in.
