*** IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 65,535 ports, NOT 65,353 ports, it was just a typo that for some reason I didn't catch when I was recording the voiceover. I'm not sure how I didn't catch this when I was recording it, and I'm pretty mad at myself about it. It's a common number in PC terms, since in binary, it's 2 to the 16th power minus 1. I apologize for the confusion, and I will see if I can add an annotation in the video itself.

SNMP sounds like "snimp" which sounds like "shrimp", and 161 looks like |6| and the 6 is an upside-down cocktail shrimp in the middle of the "road"
@Fernandez2189 ай бұрын
It sounds more like "simp" and simps are attentive and submissive to women. 6 is an upside down 9 and a 9/10 woman is very attractive. Someone worthy of simping towards. Upside down 1's are still 1's so we have a 9/10 rating woman surronded by 1s which boosts her attactiveness up to a 10. Similarly SNMP (simp) sends out queries (attention and adoration) to port 161 (object of affection) for the discovery and monitoring process (clingy).

(I also had trouble trying to relate DNS to something relevant to me but couldnt either so dont worry lol) Also, a fun one that helped me that I thought I would share would be for Port 143: Typical IMAX movie screen ratios are in 1:43 .....IMAX / IMAP both utilize 143 (not sure if viewers know IMAX but those that do, hope this alternative helps as well) Wish everyone all the best in their endeavors! I am terrible at memorizing stuff like this so I'm most stressed about this part of the exam since there's probably going to be a performance-based question to match port numbers with their protocols. This probably works better for those who live in the U.S., but for port 53 - Domain Name System, you can relate it to the presidential race. Dwight D. Eisenhower (D) became president in 1953 by defeating Adlai Stevenson II (S), and Eisenhower's running mate was Richard Nixon (N). So you can say... In 19(53), [D]wight and [N]ixon defeated [S]tevenson.

20, 21 FTP, 22 SSH, and 23 telnet helps me! Someone else said SNMP sounds like shrimp = 161 which could symbolize a shrimp on a plate. For as many of the remaining ones as possible, I associate them with the first thing I think of or something significant to me. To learn the rest, make flash cards and start with 2 cards and add or subtract one each time you feel you have it or need help. Take turns going by name/# and just don't let the discouraging thoughts in and you will learn them in an hour or two of dedicated studying.

For the RDP port 3389 this is how I remember it: RD reminds me of the initials for Robert Downey Jr, from the Iron Man/MCU movies (who's rich btw). And the P can almost look like someone sticking their tongue out if you turn your head. So RDP on top of 3389 being the largest port in the video, makes me think of Tony stark teasing that he has a lot of money.
