That's a Suzuki Swift (Maruti here in India), we have plenty of those on our roads, did not know Suzuki had a sizeable market outside of India. People take them everywhere here, even the smaller, and earlier models, like the Alto, and Maruti 800. They are the favourites for the Himalayan mountain roads here--which are narrow, bumpy, jagged, dusty and steep. They fare just fine. I estimate NZ roads are way too tame in comparison.

I’m from Sydney and live in Christchurch. I love the South Islands landscape. It’s a big reason why I choose to move down here. What you experienced with the rental car is so typical of my time living here. You pay for a service and get screwed by the lack of organization or care from people. No apology, just the “so…what do you want me to do about it?” Is usually the response I get. This is not just private businesses, but the healthcare, school system, landlords, etc. facing this daily makes me forget that I live in such a beautiful country and it’s truly a shame
@Itchban2 жыл бұрын
Yeah tbh i didn't have a good time with the car rental company - even from the pickup desk. Felt like they were talking in circles about not having any 4WDs available and then tried to blame some things on me. Other than that though it is a beautiful country. Every country has it's issues, but you should focus on / seek out the positive things. Go enjoy their beautiful nature spots!

Love this series already. It made me look back at photos I took in NZ when I went in 2015 and realize how much I've grown as a photographer. Good stuff! Hope to see more. My favorite part was by far the FPV sequence, that was epic. Also, although you initially booked the 4WD, this yellow car did stand out in the shots.
@Itchban2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Cool glad you liked the drone sequence - I just started FPV and need to improve A LOT still. Haha the colour was super bright but was mostly annoyed because a 4WD would have allowed me to drive to different places. The Swift's ride height was quite low esp for dirt roads.
@ThorCaes2 жыл бұрын
@@Itchban That's great FPV work then tho'. I bet it must be a little easier to pick up if you've already been flying other drones, no? Also, did you actually get charged less for the Swift then?
@Itchban2 жыл бұрын
Nah full manual FPV flight is nothing like flying a regular style drone. The learning curve is pretty steep tbh. So apparently the sports (turbo) swift is a class of car higher than the one I booked so no refund or extra charges. TBH it was pretty fun to drive and powerful enough for a lot of the windy roads I drove on. Only downside was it couldn't really do a lot of the gravel roads easily.
