Thinking of getting one. Do you have to put a temporary battery on so that you don't loose all the settings(clock,radio,computer etc) when the main battery is disconnected, to connect it to the Shunt?
@gettingaroundausАй бұрын
Hi mate, to my knowledge it does need to be connected to a battery to keep the settings but also I haven't done it myself so couldn't say for sure
@carlherbert14942 ай бұрын
The cable plugs from the shunt to the monitor gauge are not the same, you’d think they would have standardised the blood plugs so you could just mount the new gauge and plug it in…..doh!

I've got a 50amp battery from itech which has 2 Anderson plugs. I'm using one for power in from my itech 25amp dc-dc charger and other plug has power coming out to a 12v control box. How to I make this work?

How the monitor going ? Does it have a low voltage alarm setting ?

Yeah it does, I ran out time to add it to the video, sorry. High and low voltage alarm can be manually.

I have been looking at this monitor for a while and notice the display had changed. Are you happy with it still? Do you recommend it? Can I still use that discount code?
@gettingaroundaus10 ай бұрын
New monitor is much better, has everything on the main screen rather than needing to cycle through each page to find it. Found it to be very good. Nothing it doesn't do that I can think people might need. Discount is still live for sure 👌

Gday mate , I’ve just oredered 2x 120ah lithiums off itech world for my camper. Will the monitor show 240ah on the display ? Also so you run all negatives to the shunt dues that mean your negative from your fridge cable needs to go to the shunt ?? Cheers mate
@gettingaroundaus11 ай бұрын
Yeah mine shows the 105ah so can't see why it wouldn't show 240ah. The bit I didn't show in the video was there is settings page after holding down a particular button for 3 seconds that allows you to enter the battery bank size. Then making sure batteries are fully charged when hooking up it'll calibrate of thosr settings and charge. I run my fridge off a kickass Mini Power Box (for multiple inputs) which is then connected with neg on shunt and positive on battery. I'm guessing in theory if a fridge was running directly to a battery then yeah it would be done the same. I'm not a sparky though so couldn't be sure of any fuses required doing that way. Hope it helps and you got your discount 🍻

Hey mate! What gauge cable did you run to the battery and shunt?

I have just installed the latest screen as well. I have it running from 2 x 140 AGM batteries atm. Everything hooked up correctly however I have found my canopy light if I dim them down and amps drop below 0.25 amps then it goes to zero on the screen even though lights are still on. Also fridge in standby mode at around 0.25 amps also it reads zero. However jumps up to around 3 Amps when charging. Feed in is correct from dc dc charger. My older round screen would measure ever amp even down to 0.01. So I’m a bit confused with it.

gday mate I bought the new 2024 shunt and straight out of the box the monitor was getting no power. the green plug where the sense wire goes on was cactus. so I rang them and they sent me a new one. fitted that up. same problem. no power to the monitor. the solder connections on the sense wire plug a flimsy as fuck. both broken. my auto elec soldered it and soldered a bridge wire in and it now works perfectly. moral to the story do not touch the green sense wire plug harshly as they are brittle and break. twice for me. otherwise im fairly happy

Was the battery fully charged when hooking it up for the first time?
@James_Bram11 ай бұрын
I don’t think so when I hooked it up it was with the old battery that I didn’t know was dead then I put a new one in and it’s giving me massive readings
@gettingaroundaus11 ай бұрын
@@James_Bram Roger, you are supposed to hook it up with a fully charged battery, then change the settings for the correct battery size, then hold the button to reset it which will calibrate it to give the reading you need. It doesn't auto read from the start up but will when you set it up. I'd have a read of the manual which should give you the step by step. I followed that which helped out 🤞
