Thank you for showing us your filtration system. Seems like it would be a good system to use for camping or at a KOA.

That great for camping. what i hate is carrying so much bottled water. that smaller and lighter. love that USB C . just get a USB A to C cable and all set. a lot of them folding solar panels have USB A some have C . my 100 watt one has both. PD as well. they make a 12V lighter socket to USB A and C for car. got many of them. in each car and go bag. extra USB cables as well. They do break . that small enough for tent camping.

When I use to do a lot of backpacking, carrying the water in was brutal weight. Now with all the handheld purifying pumps things are so different. I love this little unit. Going to use it for camping for sure. The island has water available at many camp sites, but this will take the chlorine out which make it taste better . Plus another backup in a pinch ya know. Aloha! 🤙

My power station does the same thing when its charged. It's drawing very low wattage because its looking for cells to charge. You are good to go. I just bought a countertop RO that I plug into my power station only draws 30 watts when running. I got that because it has the uv light as well. Never know what they will throw at us next good to have these things around. Great video!!

I did not understand what is the purpose of having this second filter for waste water? Only drinking water must be filtered to be safe for drinking from my beginner knowledge. But very good item. Easy to use.
@ProjectsinParadise808 Жыл бұрын
Super easy to use. It's 3 stages of filtration. All needed for the end result. 🤙

Great little unit. Twi questions: 1-Can we rerun the waste water into the stage 1 water deposit? That way we wouldn't waste any of the water (unless you have a direct usage for it). 2- Does it run while charging? It would be nice to know if you can run it while charging. Thanks for the review, never saw any of these, very interesting.

Running the "waste" (known as "concentrate") back into the input ("source") supply can be done with most RO systems but can be complicated on some. The issue is that the impurities are "concentrated" in the "concentrate" (hence the name) and no RO system is perfect - some percentage of the impurities come thru to the output (the "permeate"). The more impurities in the input, the more impurities will come thru in the permeate. I added a second RO membrane to my home system (easy to do as my home system is all generic parts) which takes the concentrate from the first as supply to the second. That first stage concentrate has already passed thru the sediment and carbon filters and has somewhat more minerals and etc. The second RO membrane concentrate then goes to drain and the permeate from both is combined to feed my storage tank. I get nearly 2x the product at a slight decrease (parts per million) in product purity.

You can also generate water from a dehumidifier it will be cleaner than rain water you'd just have to modify it in a way that it will send the storage water into a 5 gallon container & make sure bugs don't get into it. Some Dehumidifiers run at about 75 watts also you'd have to check if its actually safe to drink Dehumidified water maybe if you have it go thru this water filter?? I'm thinking rain water and dehumidified water should be the same since they both do not have minerals.
@ProjectsinParadise808 Жыл бұрын
If I ran a dehumidifier you can bet I would be collecting that water! Bugs don't worry me , just filter them out😉🤙

What is your backup if you have long periods of no rain? Do you always have enough storage to carry you through?
@ProjectsinParadise808 Жыл бұрын
In 15 years, never once ran out of water, although last summer got very close. Only inches in the tank before some rain relief. This summer is shaping up to be worse. I need more storage for these drought conditions. 🤙
@KillerRaptorr8 ай бұрын
Normally people can do few different methods of water gathering. Rainwater capture is 1. Another is filter-storage-grab method which is used by going to a river stream or a lake and filtering that water into a storage tank in your car/truck/etc and driving it back home to fill the storage home tanks up.

I think a Berkey filter system is better, no power is needed and there’s no waste water.

No. Berkey filter is only 0.01microns. RO does 0.00001microns. So if you wanted to capture even finer details of bugs/etc. RO is the cloeset you'll get before UV or Chlorine burning the water. But for simple ability. Sure. But if you're more wanting to get a finer filtering. RO would do it. You are right a Berkey would be fine. But i'd still run a UV system to be more sure.

question i look at this and the filters are expensive is it worth it? well it be better to buy a cheap Brita unit?
@KillerRaptorr8 ай бұрын
Brita and Pur's are built for Purifying HOME water to get out Chlorine/etc not for river/lake water sources. Filters are designed to filter out bugs/virus via the Ultra fine hollow Membrane out in the wild via river/lake water or ground rain water. Stuff you normally wouldn't wanna drink on it's own.. Do read up on the difference between a FILTER and PURIFIER.
