The problem with POE is it's far too item dependent. You don't meet X% requirement somewhere and often your build will dead stop in some content. It's a GIANT learning curve. There are many no lifers that abuse this with their shitty trade market.

It is, but to be fair is that really needed? PoE has been around for 9 ish years adding/perfecting their formula. I like Diablo and PoE for different reasons, the problem PoE has for newcommers is the super steep learning curve and it has so many systems, i hope PoE 2 will streamline it in a neat package :D

This is my 3rd time "trying" the game. I still don't know what I'm doing but I'm just applying common sense and skipping old league mechanics for now and just playing the campaign. Did am easy necro build this time and just loosely followed a guide. It's been fun af I'm in Act 10 now. The one thing I need help with is all these different ways to craft and get netter weapons. Also I'm playing on console and inventory management sucks hard. But I'm very interested in poe2.

What does that even mean? POE league has alway been like this. Every league give new insane mechanics for that league and some people play normal mode where they play with those insane item from different leagues. Why do you make it sound like POE is suddenly giving us “borrowed power” in this leagues when the game has alway been like this?

It most certainly has not, "always," been like this. It's literally the league mechanic of this season bro lol. the weapon skill tree is the "Borrowed Power" example on this. The reason I say it doesn't work in other games without "seasons" (like WoW for the Legion expansion) You spend a whole 2-3 years with a mega ultra powerful amazing weapon that you never have to replace lvl it up do all the gimmicks(XP/Rep/dailies) available to make it as powerful as you can, then you start the next expansion, lose the weapon. When you lvl in a new expansion you're supposed to feel more powerful like you achieved more power. People hated Battle for Azeroth(WoW) because it felt like we gained 10 lvls, but lost dmg and power cuz we lost the borrowed power from the artifact weapons. But in games like POE where you don't play the same toon for 15+ years and restart every 3 months. You don't feel like you're really missing out when losing it. Make sense? I hope it does lol.(P.S. meant in a nice way!)

Hated it? You can store them trivially. The time to hop in to sanctum, press the map thing to store and hop out was longer than I wanted but it's not a huge problem.

Wait this just looks like a scuffed WoW Legion artifact copy paste lol. Was hoping of actually seeing some new content for once instead of the standard "click random statue -> spawn mob waves -> upgrade into op item" But then again with only having a 158,882 all-time peak 14 months ago on PC (Source steamdb) i can see they lack the funds or devs to make something truly new that isn't the same click mob wave spawn mechanic as always. Compared to Diablo 4's 2.6mil Unique players that actually got over level 20 in a 4 day beta PoE doesn't even exist in comparison so can't expect as much. Have fun POE andy's in the comments trying to copium your way out of the truth.

The game is many years old. It is not likely to get too many player at once. People get to try the game out at first but quickly drop off later. It is for all games. Elden Ring doesn't have 1 million people playing right now on steam like it was at launch despite selling more than 10 million copies. Another thing is many people don't play POE on steam, it has its own launcher too (and console is not accounted for steam either). For a live service game it is the best interest to retain the player over a long period of time not just when it fresh come out.

@@christophluger793 Then why you bother about the skill tree of the game or anything at all in D4 or POE or any game. Just make a radio button: X build, Y build then player choose it and play for the rest of the year. Even if most people look up on the internet they will have to look at all of other note soon or later. Otherwise how do people know how to play the build or what each note offer and why. After that they will eventually want to mix up to their liking. People are not stupid. They get overwhelmed at first but they will overcome. Having more options that are meaningful is better than not so D4 incorporated it into their paragon note.

@@KKKuma PoE is so complicated it's for people who really want a complicated system. D4 is a lot easier, gets more complicated the higher you get so you're not getting burned out. You can create your own build without looking something up because it's easier to understand. I don't want to look at hundreds of nodes, PoE also has tons of different resources. If someone has a life and a job PoE is inferior to D4.
