This is so much better than the nasty gooey stuff that makes you gag. I have a sensitive gag reflex and this one doesn’t make you gag at all. This is easily the preferable option.

I don’t like twisting my neck to the right to watch, it’s much easier if it’s in you normal view. I like to have it on my left side. She looks like her neck hurts, I know mine does..

My question is how do you clean this thing? It was used on my last week and all the sudden i got a swollen upper lip and sore. There is no protection on the wand right? Just disinfectant and on to the next patient?

Thank you for your question, Kathy. There are specific cleaning guidelines and disinfecting protocols for the iTero™ scanner. In the United States, the use of an iTero Element™ 5D and 5D Plus series scanner requires the use of a full wand barrier sleeve and clip-on vent cover. Please reach out to your provider to discuss any concerns you may have regarding the use of an iTero scanner.

Isn't It easier just to take an impression? Is the scanner more accurate?

It is pretty accurate but a manual mold seems easier. Especially for the elderly. I had this done 9/2024 and it is uncomfortable due to the head size . It could be smaller with still enough window to scan from.

It doesn't work on metal filler or metal dental crowns. My doctor had problems with it and said "I think because metal reflects light", then he sprayed me with some color.

I had this done. At North queen dental here in etobicoke Ontario for a denture for missing front bottom tooth and pulled broken molar. Will gladly say this Lazor is theway to go. New denture looked exactly as missing tooth did. Nobody can tell it's fake and the denture is a perfect firm fit. Highly recommend this procedure and north queen dental in South Etobicoke. And no I'm not being paid or work at the dental office. Just letting ppl know is all😊

This is the best scanner for dental. Well as long as the Dr have a good training and have a good tissue management. Otherwise the margin will be all over the place.

Just be sure that the tech who scans your teeth is NOT a beginner at this or you will get ill fitting retainers like I did and then have to go through the procedure again. The scanner is only as good as the tech using it.

You should NOT touch anything else but the patient's mouth and teeth with that hygiene gloves on. You should take off the gloves when touching the monitor and other devices in the office. It could transfer the germs from those objects to the patient's mouth with your gloves.

We just had training on this wonderful scanner. For those that may not be aware, for disinfection purposes, the full computer monitor can be wiped down with Cavi-wipes or SaniCloths unlike other monitors. Thank you for the wonderful helpful hints…..looking forward to using this amazing device!

We were using these scanner and the results is awesome, very accurate. Regarding the disinfecting of the machine we used cavi wipes on all the surface before and after used. We put cling wrap on the monitor and tip used for scanning is dispossable. So no worries😊

Many people have gag reflex issues with mini panic attacks. I had this used on me for that purpose and it was great. I'd rather pay more and not have that feeling of drowning.

Did it give you any type of issue with the upper back teeth and the tongue? By the video I feel it's huge and I wonder if I'll be able to sit through it

@@barbomb91I'm terrible at the dentist. Cant even handle xrays ... so cumbersome in the back of your mouth. I had no issues with the digital scan .... no panic attacks, no feeling of drowning, no gagging. Night and day. Let us know how you make out. Good luck.

ITERO is a cartoon in a real life world.. do not use them.. best are TRIOS AND PRIME SCANNERS. Whoever came up with 😅the prototype needs to be put in the back of the class. That is too much going in someone's mouth, uncomfortable due to the head size and the multiple attempts to get the necessary views.
