I have met a couple of people years ago who had tried to do similar things to me. I can't even begin to say how many times I tried to avoid them at all costs. And right front the start no less. Meaning from the second I met them for the first time. They just would not leave me alone at all. I couldn't go anywhere without them showing up at my home just as I'm leaving or if I'm going into the bowling alley or the movie theater. Didn't matter. There they were. Could get away from them. It really was scary. And just like in this story they just wouldn't get the hint that they were not wanted. And you wanted nothing to do with them from the start. It's almost as if you have a bullseye target on your back or some kind of note stuck to you. Thank God I got rid of those nut cases back then. Drive me crazy

This may sound rather snobbish, but one was taught at a very young age how to recognise and avoid such people. Being brought up in "the big house" brought with it those who felt entitled to share in anything we owned. It was, on occasion, really rather ghastly. One was then forced to instruct one's own children in a similar manner. People, it seems, never change.

I don't feel bad at all for the protagonist. Why allow people you didn't want on your anniversary trip after already telling them no. Then, proceed to be upset when karen pulls a karen. If I were the husband, I would be pissed at the main character for being too foolish. Writers, please work on your stories. There hasn't been one yet, where the protagonist declined and stayed firm... Even though the other channels came last, I can't deny a lot of other channels that have a better story set up
