I am gender fluid, which is one of the terms under that umbrella of "non-binary". We need to educate the general public, and yes, in schools as well to combat the growing ignorance towards this subject. People laugh, people make jokes and rude comments (mostly right wingers) and we need to educate these people.

I just found out a relative is nonbinary and never heard the term. But recently have seen a nonbinary person . I am accepting of a person's choices. Just like I was born female and will always identify as a woman.
@Mel-wn9gbАй бұрын
I was born female too. That's why I'm a woman. Nothing to do with 'identity', unless you think women and girls are just a collection of crude, oppressive sex stereotypes and roles. Surely not?

Omg the point Sage made about hair hit home for me-I have had long hair since I was five (I really wanted to be like rapunzel 😂) and was known for it by everyone I knew. But then starting freshman year of high school I realized that I really hated it, I was holding onto my long hair but not because I wanted to for cosmetic reasons but because it was what everyone wanted me to. I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. It got to the point that there were days that I wanted to pull it hair by hair from my head just so I could feel more me, if that makes any sense. It kind of hit me some time around here that I didn’t really identify with being a woman, being called a girl made me feel super weird and low key unsafe. But I finally got it cut several months ago and I went from having waist length hair to a buzzcut. It was so incredibly freeing and I finally feel like I’m me. :)

Love this so much I’m non binary myself however, I chose to not come out to my family since they are old fashioned and I come from a African American family which sucks but I’m ok with it. Today I gotten lipstick and a beautiful lady (who’s trans) helped me out and I was shocked when my mom said that she loved the workers shoes and it made me smile cause even though my mom doesn’t support the lgbtq but I feel like she kinda came around. I have a lot of pride pins however I had them from my family but when I’m at school I show them off and I join my school’s Pride Alliance Club and I love it so much!

Just new terms for identities that have always existed, even if in unspoken ways. Many cultures around the world have historically documented ‘third genders’ and queer people certainly existed in pre-history as well.

sometimes i get so much dysphoria from having predominantly "femme" traits (both features and personality wise) and everyone around me automatically assuming i'm a girl when i feel completely detached from that label as an agender person - living in binary-focused spaces without much room for inclusion in day-to-day affairs makes me feel suffocated, and i almost convince myself that everything i feel about my gender identity was just a lie i told myself and i must be the gender i was assigned at birth. even though i feel a level of discomfort with being pushed into that box and being seen that way, it's like i have to conform to those ideas because i'm so terrible with speaking up and introducing these concepts to strangers and distant associates, and i relate to many of the qualities people online joke and meme about as a "girl habit" i wish i appeared more androgynous or masc leaning so i can comfortably display my feminine traits without being so ashamed that everyone sees me as a girl thank you for this video

@nikk6435 Жыл бұрын
@@joyeetaghosh2209 the thing with sport gender segregation is that it isn’t really divided based on physical capabilities. Before sports were divided, women often outperformed men. There were many occasions when women disguised themselves as men, sneaked into men’s sports and won. Women often get disqualified for natural hormone levels while men do not. Women are judged for being “too masculine” all the time. Today sports are divided based on the idealistic idea of what men and women should be. It is full of heteronormative stereotypes. This divide has never been fair in the first place, so when it comes to non-binary people, of course they are not going to fit into this system. There are many ways to categorize sports aside from gender. We can create categories based on height, weight, genes, hormones, muscle composition, etc. I don’t think gender segregation has any future in sports.
