If we shrug our shoulders and look the other way it tells CeeLo and others that this behavior is okay, go ahead, keep doing it, we don't care. This is the problem with the industry, and it needs to change. Men believing they can say and do whatever they want to whomever they want whenever they want. It's okay because I'm ME! All the ego, none of the accountability. CeeLo, Diddy, R Kelly...a system that creates and props up criminals. Sick.
@MariselaR.da1daOnly2 ай бұрын
The problem is deeper than that. Part of the problem also stems from lack of accountability on both sides. We need to stop normalizing hyper sexuality and and viewing it as "womens empowerment!" Many people do. They then seek out these stars, want to be at their party's, and want to take these drugs. The one point made that shows me his innocence is that you don't pass out on ecstacy. It has the opposite effect! Some women are willing and able at the moment but the next day they are embarrassed or ashamed at themselves for their own decisions! They then weaponize the "me too" movement to play victim. People are capable of telling lies. No one wants to admit to that though.

@@MariselaR.da1daOnly We do need to have that discussion about what is being interpreted in our society today as female empowerment and feminism. I do not subscribe to the theory that wearing a string bikini and donning high heeled shoes while singing "I am woman hear me roar" makes one a feminist or doing the booty shake in a dress three sizes too small while on the floor crawling around making obscene gestures with their tongue the embodiment of female empowerment. However, when a man feels that because he is wealthy, famous, and wants what he wants, he can put substances in a woman's drink without her permission, take advantage of her, and not receive any legal consequences, that is when a statement by our judicial power needs to be made clear that no one is above the law. No one. Yes, I too have had concerns about those who decide to abuse the #MeToo movement for their own personal gain or to exact revenge on someone. All I can do on my part is put my trust that our legal system will prevail for those who are defending themselves against false accusations. I'm going to leave that there as I don't want to type a novel.

@@ThatsPety Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I'm seeing more comments like above (mostly men, I believe) that are Andrew Tate-influenced believing that women ask for the abuse, ask to be drugged, ask to come back for more, and as someone stated quite coldly when "the well runs dry" starts calling out #MeToo. Until you know what it's like to be a woman who has been called names, touched in places while in class (both middle school and high school) without permission, had a police officer use your cleavage as a basketball hoop (and you are underage), etc., don't blurt out misinformed comments that hurt women, but also could potentially put women, minors, and other vulnerable people in harms way.
