@@Ebh55. Yes, as it's really poor character design. In a modern setting, most women aren't going to be wearing ankle length dresses. In, say, a medieval style setting you can definitely get away with it, but the dresses would need to look medieval style otherwise it's bad character design. I understand that in a one person animation you'll want to simplify your work load as much as possible, but you can still keep it fairly simple by just making 3-4 'base outfits' that you stick on characters at random (eg. long dress, trousers plus t-shirt, trousers plus hoodie, and t-shirt plus mid length skirt (for the guys switch out dress with trousers plu shirt, and the skirt one with t-shirt plus shorts)). There, a simple way to give a much needed boost of variety to your background characters without notably increasing your workload. Like, as an animator myself I find the lack of effort to be really bad.

For example, even in winx club, where most of the characters wear only short skirts and tops and it's kind of a "style" of the show, there still are characters who wear pants, long skirts, shorts, sweathers, etc. It gives a variety in designs and helps to make them distinct and unique despite literally being the same copypasted model. In camila's case.. it's kinda plain. Colored sweather+pants or skirt describes almost every characters in this show. It's plain and boring..

As someone who was a kid-teenager during glitchtale's rein, I really want to dive into how camila treated her fanbase, specifically the younger fans. It's literally like she hated them. When there were comments about when the next glitchtale was (yes it's annoying), instead of ignoring them, she made several videos pointing them out and "dunking" on them. And sending her older fans to attack these literal young children who were obviously around 8 or something. Imagine being a grown woman and laughing about bullying 8 year olds who are literally your fans. And during live streams she would constantly call people stupid and clueless for fan theories (which were literally CORRECT) or talking about the "cringe" OCs people made and laughing at then or acting mad at how bad they were and again, sending her older audience to attack the younger. Especially about the fan theories. She called them stupid and told them to "stop trying to make sans come back you're all stupid for not wanting a character to stay dead" and then she brought him back. Lol. She then defended herself by saying she hated that people were getting it right and wanted to throw off suspicion or something like that. Which is insane, a normal person just wouldn't engage. But of course Camilla thinks its okay to attack children to cover her shitty writing. She also made fun of kids on her glitchtale amino, their OCs and fanart. Her entire identity outside of animation and art was just bullying her younger fans and people laughing and harassing the children. I wasn't harassed by anyone because i didn't post any art or comments, but it made me still feel insecure about being creative, art wise and fan theory wise, she just kept telling people to shut up instead of letting people think (probably because it was so predictable lmao). EDIT: I think it's funny how you said she doesn't even know what a book looks like and that she can't read because my most specific memory from one of her streams is her and her fans insulting a child in the chat and then something prompted her to say "haha yeah lol I'd be surprised if half of you could even read" Guess it takes one to know one

I’m genuinely surprised that she’s never thrown a hissy fit about Toby Fox “stealing” her ideas for Deltarune, given how she seems exactly like the kind of person to do that and Deltarune ironically seems to be exploring a lot of similar concepts and ideas as Glitchtale but executed far better and much more creative. Maybe she’s too scared to go after him because she knows she’ll be torn to shreds by the entire fandom for it, but considering everything that’s gone down with Veir, it’s not like she can make herself even more of a laughingstock than she already is.

@@erihtea0719it's called glitchtale because the story couldn't of been possible without them, the story deviates from glitching when Frisk is erased because he's the reason why they're glitching. After that its up to the characters themselves to iron out the opportunities they've gotten(gaster existing outside the void, monsters gaining physical bodies because of the upper world, and fighting for their rights in almost political setting) so they can lead happy lives. Ofc Betty comes to destroy that and hate following her death but that's kinda the point; Betty in a nutshell is bug fix that's supposed to course correct the problem through the lense of the game. They make her a efficient bug parch(murder) by allowing her trait to directly change and manipulate the main power system which is emotion. Its also the reason why alphys died, she's not a monster or human, she's basically code. The black beast was a forced creation to justify her existence in a lore centric way

So basically Camilla has beef with Hopeless Peaches because during an art collab there was a misunderstanding and Camilla sold the collab art without Peaches’ permission. Hopeless Peaches confronted Camilla about this (both publicly and privately), and they seemed to forgive each other in private at the time. But Camilla constantly used it against her, like when Peaches was being dogpiled on a couple years ago. Whenever Peaches got into drama, Camilla always brought it up as a negative against Hopeless Peaches. There are entire videos documenting this and the peaches drama connects to multiple other dramas so I recommend watching those for the full breakdown. Edit: I did get the roles switched up at first, this is the correct version of events.

If anyone wants a refresher, here’s how souls work in canon: Red: does nothing, implied to have resurrective capabilities. Light blue: also not incredibly useful, light blue attacks don’t hurt if you stay still. Blue: gravity. Green: can’t move, the only time we use a green soul is when Undyne gives us a spear to protect ourselves. Green attacks heal. Purple: bound; can only move left or right, and switch roads. Yellow: gun. Yellow attacks can be switched on or off by a yellow soul. Orange: does nothing, orange attacks force you to move. So purple attacks should be able to bind. Blue attacks could be magnetic. But apparently, they’re just blades, because I don’t know. Blue doesn’t even make sense; why is it a long sword? Why not something bouncy, since jumping is one of blue’s big things? And hey, since purple is perseverance, maybe it could create armor? Or some kind of mobile shield? Whyyy is pink fear? Why is fear evil? Perhaps it could have to do with cowardice and prejudice, but then why is Betty always fighting things herself? And what the hell is up with HATE? That’s not even a trait, everyone hates something, like how I hate this headache I’m giving myself.

PAPYRUS OPENS HIS TEETH LIKE LIPS, REVEALING MORE FUCKING TEETH. YOU CAN HAVE A CHARACTER EMOTE WITHOUT FACIAL FEATURES, I SWEAR. And let’s not talk about how often Camilla forgets the very principles of animation. Squash and stretch? Pose to pose? EXAGGERATION? WHAT ARE THOSE? No, animation is just moving characters a bit so that they slightly resemble living people, there’s no such thing as studying other works and reading what professionals have to say.

Frisk at lv 1 was already able to take over the timeline from Flowey. Clover couldnt do that till lv 20. Frisk at lv 20 deleted the entire timeline (well Chara, but whatever)

Because even as a kid, I was always aware that cartoons are usually made by huge teams of professional animators, so it was obvious to me, that we can't expect an animated series made by *one person* to be high quality, and also watching how the creator is making progres was actually super fun to observe. For me personally, what made me lose interest in Glitchtale (albeit in a "damage-over-time" fashion, keep reading) was when Chara replaced Frisk, while Frisk was utterly ret-gone, leaving Chara's old shoes empty. Animosity wasn't out yet, so I had time to think after seeing the latest episode, and before the episode even released, I decided I was done with the series. If you're going to have in-universe characters modify the past, you'd better be able to either A, explain the resulting time paradox so that what's left can be ignored, or B, show your audience the consequences of leaving such a massive time paradox unresolved. Glitchtale did neither before I lost interest.

I feel like they were about to acknowledge at least a bit of the issue through Sans waking up after Chara replaces Frisk. However, not only does he refuse to question it further after asking where "the kid" (Frisk) was, but then he's immediately killed off again before he can have any meaningful interaction with Chara to ask about it privately. If there was any missed potential that bugged me the most about Glitchtale, it was that unresolved/unexplained plot point/paradox

Purple Trix the man rabbit survives getting burnt until he was lured into a restaurant along with other damaged robot furries owned by his oldest son who accidentally killed his little brother in a prank back in 1983 and who also "died" in an underground maintenance facility trying to save his little sister who was killed by a "kid-friendly" Joker robot. Undead man, with the help of Purple man's old friend, Old Sport (Henry), traps all the robots and burns everyone to a crisp, setting their souls free while Purple man gets tormented in his personal hell by one of his victims. As an author, I really want to point out that Glitchtale’s worldbuilding actually DOES have the potential to be good. If you just take away anything that connects it to Undertale and instead use your own ‘controversial pariah’ characters in place of the monsters, you could make some really interesting, deep stories out of it. One thing I want to point out specifically: humans having a modernized or even futuristic magic-centric military to rival the magic of the monsters is an extremely cool concept. In fact, I was inspired by that specific part of Glitchtale while working out my own worldbuilding, and the result is consistently used in several of my works. I’ve been following Glitchtale since the Newgrounds days, and though I will agree that its success is heavily dependent on the 2015-2017 Undertale fandom nostalgia, I honestly genuinely hope that they decide to go back and rewrite it or something (I mean, hell, maybe I’ll do it once I’ve finished my own thirty seven million book lineup in forty years). I can tell that a lot of passion went into this project, regardless of the quality, and I would genuinely like to see that same passion put into something more unique and understandable (regardless of the scandals - I am a firm believer of separating art from the artist’s controversies, unless there is a direct correlation). Everyone starts somewhere in the realm of storytelling, and it usually isn’t very great (I still shudder thinking about my earliest story drafts from 6th grade), but you’re never going to get anywhere if you don’t go out of your way to try to get better. Glitchtale as it is should absolutely serve as an example to all up-and-coming authors of what not to do, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. Keep writing, and always look for ways to improve!

I took lots of inspiration from the magic system! Turned it into an elemental system with strengths and weaknesses (not all-encompassing ones), gave the traits- ‘affinities’- powers similar to their meanings and the six humans’ powers in Undertale- magic became solely based on intent and on thought patterns… The Underground now contains ~750,000 monsters, in literal giant caverns and with religion and politics. And oh, human politics! Without Glitchtale, would I have gone for wix vs mundane politics? Culture? A high fantasy aesthetic mixed with sci-fi? Absolutely not! I sort of axed the specific weapons for each trait, which are irrational, and the losing trait thing was axed- eh, not my favorite. Inverted traits were nerfed considerably. Also, when characters use magic they go for shields because isn’t Glitchtale’s armor… well, bad? It’s not fully covering, is it? Plus, I think that spheres and arcs make for more stability, plus they make sure one doesn’t experience tripping on something… say, if someone makes the ground become covered in vines or ice.

As a kid, I remember absolutely loving Betty as a character. I was a dumb angsty kid who was always into those “edgy” or “badass” characters, but looking back at it, she was WAYYY too OP. main reason why i couldnt get into it was because there was too much focus on the human ocs. i was a kid with very little standards at the time glitch tale was really popular but the only reason i ever tried to get into it was because it was an undertale fan work. i care about undertale and its characters, not some random ocs i know nothing about. and its funny because it CAN be done well, although its rare. for example, recently released undertale yellow had really good, genuinely interesting ocs. but that story worked primarily because it was a prequel, focused on monsters and concepts that were already in the original game. so even though almost all the characters were entirely new, the game still felt like undertale.

well the whole point is that she is similar to the red soul in being a "only one at a time" thing. The red soul has the special properties of resetting or rewinding time. With a select few characters being able to remember those timelines that should've existed. Her whole shtick was "I am literally just the fear of red souls and will do whatever I can to make sure they suffer and die." I mean with the manipulation, murder of friends and other nasties like almost causing asgore to get put on a t-shirt by toriel. Imma e honest I genuinely didn't understand her abilities. I feel like it would've worked better if the rhabdopobia scene was just turning off all magic in the radius. If I was to fix issues it would be that it doesnt require souls to activate and instead requires "fear" which is why she would go after children, since they're easier to scare. It could've been awesome if she was a fearmongerer who was using manipulation tactics and phobia's to eliminate people. Such as causing alphys to take her own life by setting up some magic effect on her that would cause her alot of terrible things to happen. Look up suicide engineer if you wanna see what I mean, its basically a story of this girl being picked by some demon that causes her to have constant hallucinations at work, at home and etc etc that all make it impossible to live happily. She cant sleep, she gets harrassed constantly, all her friends leave her and more until she eventually takes her life. I couldn't describe it very well but look it up, its pretty good.

I'd like to add some additional notes to the character design section because I honestly feel like they weren't ragged on enough. Pretty much all the characters have the exact same silhouette, body structure, and anatomy, including the main cast from Undertale! A good example of this anatomy assassination in action is Alphys and Papyrus. In the original game, Alphys is depicted as having a slight slouch and triangular head, giving a very reptilian appearance. Papyrus, meanwhile, has very skinny limbs and a small torso (covered by his battle body,) there's a little of circles, lines, and curves with Papyrus with little to no corners, which fits for character. Yet in glitchtale, all this is completely thrown out the window in favor of more humanoid anatomy, and it looks so wrong. Gaster might just have the worst redesign out of all of them. He looks more like a pale human than a skeleton! And before any of you say in the replies, "Oh, it's just an art style choice,” it's for the best to keep the characters' anatomy consistent if you're trying to be accurate to the source material! Which Glitchtale tried to do in absolute failure. Pair this with all of the other mistakes and flaws in Camilla artstyle, and now those statements aren't even an argument anymore. Don't even get me started on the inconsistencies with the base game lore, like the fact that determination isn't even a specific soul trait! But this comment is long enough, and you already go into many more reasons why this series is garbage.

Also no way the artist thought about natural factors changing sidewalk height and then forgot how road markings work completely

@@crumpscrumbs tracing is a really good learning tool, but one that should be used sparingly. imo, it's okay if you trace real things/body parts while drawing if it helps you get better at drawing that thing. the problem comes when you trace art that isn't yours yet claim that you drew it or even worse, monetize it. tracing helped me draw some things like shoes and similar, so I would recommend.

Honestly, I think Glitchtale would've worked better as a chill, slice of life type of show with the earlier style. I dunno, the chibi designs of the characters back then were kinda adorable, so it clashed with when stuff got dark or gorey. If the series was a comedy that focused more on the characters themselves and their dynamics with each other, rather than an action packed series that constantly needed to up the stakes and kill off characters, it probably wouldn't have been so meh after the start of season 2. After that point, it felt like Glitchtale constantly tripped over itself whenever it tried to bring in more character drama and fight scenes after each Episode.

@@pogggaming4470 in the snowdin outskirts i think just after the invisible electricity walls ""puzzle"" there's a little golf like minigame to push a snowball into a hole. Depending on how well you do you get one of seven results that are related to the seven children that fell down to the underground. Those best result gets you the text: "Bravery, Justice, Integrity Kindness, perseverance, patience using these you were able to win the ball game" Each of those traits are also color coded leading for people to believe that those traits have something to do with why a soul is a certain colour. the fact that some of the dialogue for the other colour coded results are also related to what that particular colour does with bullets or your soul whenever a monster changes it from the default white or red also lends some credence to this theory.

It still bugged me to this day that Undyne's police "uniform" looks more like pajamas In fact, almost everyone in the second season all look like they have nothing in their wardrobes but pajamas, you'd expect the fact that Mettaton still being famous after Asgore's arrest would imply a trend wave of fashion Edit: Also, I just wanna say this, but the decision to render actual voice acting to an absolute minimum seems redundant, especially with an exposition heavy show like Season 2 Like, I can't help but be put off at the characters ah- ing and oh- ing and occasionally calling other people's names like I'm watchinga bunch of Minecraft villagers(which would explain the choice of clothing) She even showed how each character would sound with full sentences, and it was the best cast of characters yet, and a very good cast of VAs an animated series of this calibre can have yet, atleast for me

@@ilhandaanish2381 IKR, and another thing, the whole Dreemur family, mostly Asriel and Asgore, all look off, their hair being more like toupee than anything, and Papyrus in his shirt isn't good at all, heck not even his battle body is drawn right. The final battle between the bones and Betty I barely managed to sit through, as well as most of the fights in season two besides Undyne vs Betty(the first one)

Even back when I blindly praised Glitchtale I can't help but think Undyne looks so ugly in those clothes. Also, wasn't Deltarune Chapter 1 released at that time when Glitchtale is still in progress? Even Undyne there looks like an actual police officer despite being made up of pixels WAY FEWER than Cami's drawing. She should at least take inspiration from that or better yet, just simply search up "police uniform" on Google! 🤦‍♀️💀

In retrospect, the most absurd thing about the pink Soul is the fact that the color is supposed to be representative of the Soul's trait. Like Betty should be a cowardly lion, but instead she's able to tap into other people's fears? That doesn't add up. The Kindness Soul, for example, doesn't make others kind; the Soul itself is kind and therefore the _carrier_ is kind. So why is the Fear Soul different? (Of course the answer is obvious: Fuck me for wanting to know)

A possible answer could be that the souls trait rubs off on people. Like if you hang out with people with kindness souls there kindness could make you also be kind to others if that makes sense? Though if that was the case it’d be nice to have that told

Fear is not a normal trait, Betty is nor human nor monster and she is born as a result of Agatha's fear, her fear of monsters, litteraly xenophobia

I don't think it's a case of Betty not having fear, I think it's more of a case of Betty not showing it. Because if you're afraid and as arrogant as Agate likely is, you would not want to show any fear, as you wouldn't want to be seen as weak. This causes them to harm and scare others, quite a bit like a bully works. As for what she's afraid of, it could be quite a few things. If Betty is Agate, then she could be afraid of not being in control, which is pretty much the entire reason why Agate inverts her trait in the first place (She was not in control of the state of the barrier). She could also be afraid of Frisk/Chara, since they remind her of Copper, someone who was able to beat her. Also, if Betty is Amber, then she would likely be very afraid as she is traumatized when her own sister whom she trusted murdered her in cold blood. But she wouldn't show that because their fear has transformed them. This is similar to what happened to Flowey, as he couldn't feel emotions, perhaps because he was soulless, but also because he has all the trauma he experienced as Asriel, on top of the trauma of the 6 humans (that's where the determination injected into him came from). But hey, that's just a theory. I probably put more thought into that than Camila actually did. Thank you for bothering to read this, anyone that actually does.

When I saw the bit where Frisk falls down I was like “wow that looks amazing….! And…familiar….wait a minute-“ I love MHA so I cottoned on to that right away. I also love that scene in MHA especially. Tbh I’m never gonna call anyone’s art _bad_ but it’s such an obvious random jump in quality (and style) when she traces stuff that it’s glaringly obvious.
