I agree Kosta. Do not let these comments upset you. Real talented musicians like yourself do not care about where an instrument came from. Real musicians listen to music from all over the world. No time for "Politics". Do what you do and play top class music as always.

Yes! Turks and Armenians produce beautiful music! May they like together in peace in honour of their great and beautiful past, made of tears and laughs! Aggression and compassion!. May the horrors of their past exist only in campfire stories! You have my blessings from Minnesota!

what the hell are you talking about...armenians have a huge variety of instruments, string, percussion, and woodwind...also, this music is very armenian. the first part is tamzara, and the second part is a village tune. both of these are thousands of years old

@ThaChosenChild The beat is Armenian...the instruments have been played in Armenia long before the modern day european sounding armenian music and this song and the dance that goes with it is unique to armenia. so i think that makes this an Armenian style song

actually this first part is a western armenian folk dance "tamzara". originating in kharpert, yerzinga, karin among other areas. you can find many videos of it on youtube. by the way anoush and inga's tamzara is not the real tamzara. their tamzara is in 4/4 while the real tamzara is 9/8 as in this video. the second part of the video is armenian too i think but i dont remember what the song is called. others have said its by ara dinkjian, that seems correct. he is american-armenian.

@Arzive He was from a Serbain shepherd family and raised to the top through Devsirme system. Note that we know he was from a Christian Serbian family and one of his close relatives possible brother were the Patriarch of Serbia at those times. So he knew his family and his past. Many of these people were not very Orthodox Muslims either. Janissary were Bektashi a heteredox Sufi order which allows alcohol etc. So it is more complex than you think.

@Intramorph - If you look at more closely you will see that there were Turkish tribes who converted to Christianity and became Armenians or Greeks and there were Greek or Armenian people who converted to Islam and became Turks. I know you don't like it but before nationalism came to Ottoman Empire there were villages where Turks Greeks and Armenians were living together. Now can you tell me which one of them created this song? You like it or not we share the same culture.
