The food is pretty historical, too. And I say that having the walls, palace, and frescoes run down and falling apart, it adds to the fantasy ambience. The people living in this town now are humbler than the original builders, but they have less to fear.

A sage travels from town to town, searching archive after archive for the answer to a question...one their master couldn't find, but they have promised to keep researching. However, in their travels they find answers to questions they weren't searching for...or would have ever thought to ask, and begin to re-learn an ancient form of magic hidden from the world long ago..... OR Travelling from town to town, our hero is searching for...fun books to read! Everyone thinks they are some wise sage or powerful mage...but really they just have a bit of a natural talent for magic, and the books they read are written by good authors that studied their subject material well. Along the way they develop a reputation for heroism and daring-do...but really they just want to be left alone to read and keep getting pulled into a bunch of stupid adventures. Not alone that, the Big Bad thinks they are studying how to defeat him...so sends agents to stop our hero...

I'd even just happily watch a "slice of life" animation, watching the restaurant-keeper greet and serve customers, and prep food in more complex detail. Interesting and less-obvious looping of passerby... but hey, the focus is the music, right? All this lovely animation is just gravy, and we shouldn't demand more. Love Lewis Tingler's #2, though.
