Somnath “Somesvara” temple is located in Prabhas Patan on coastline of Saurashtra. In Vana Parva of Mahabharat there is a mention of a pilgrim site (Tirtha) in Prabhasa Pattana. In Shiv Purana the 1st Jyotirlinga is mentioned as Prabhasa Pattana. But Ruchika wants to refer only Farsi sources and Romila Thapars research thesis.

In South India, Schools were called Kalaris which were associated with certain families, temples or some teacher. This is where they taught fighting Kalaripayattu. They also teach Sanskrit & Grammar. Marmakala is also part of Kalaripayattu, so the teachers would also be experts in Ayurveda & Siddha medicines. There are 18 levels in Kalari & a student who learns & becomes an expert in these 18 levels is capable of becoming a teacher. Though not all students become a teacher later & most go back to practice their traditional trades of their parents. But they retain all the knowledge of martial arts, language & medicine. So, the villagers will go to these people for help when they are sick or injured. If someone proves to be good in treating people, they are visited more often. Till recently, around 1960-70s, these types of people were the only medical support available to villagers. And I am talking about Kerala specifically here. My Grandfather was one such person. He was in the military as well, so when he returned he had additonal knowledge of quickfixes that they use to do in the military.

So according to her the Farsi writings about temple destruction is wrong but a random scripture about abhirs looting the temple is correct . When Britishers talk about Islamic invasions then it is wrong but when they talk about Aryan invasion then it is right . She also tried to support Romila Thapar and ironically most of her references for ancient India are British and German Indologists. So British references are correct when it comes to ancient history but not when it comes to medieval times . Saurabh’s counter question about Somnath and reference of jyotirling was spot on and she became uncomfortable and rejected that also. So basically she’s a monkey historian who tries to monkey balance the history unnecessarily. There is a term used by many Muslim kings as “BUTSHIKAN” which means destroyer of the idols . Islamic invaders used to put head of cows on idols and slaughter cows in temples to humiliate Hindus specially in north India that’s why cow slaughter is a sensitive issue in north. If they just wanted to loot the temples then why to break the idols ? They could have just left with the gold . Many historians also say that not much of the conversion happened in India but forgetting about total Muslims in Indian subcontinent and Hindus are 110 crores and Muslims are 60 crores so from where these 60 crores Muslims arrived? Even Sambhaji was tortured and killed because he rejected to covert to Islam. These white washing historians and liberals who try to put the dust under the carpet are one of the reasons of upsurging of the right wing in india . Saurabh ji i believe you are a neutral and unbiased but in future if you want to give space to these kinds of historians then also bring historians like Minakshi Jain , Sampat , S saideepak , professor Ranganathan etc to counter them other wise it’s a certain narrative being forwarded by them and to counter them more and more people will make movies like kashmir files and it will only harm the left wing and Muslims of India .

There are so many instances of contradiction in her testimony. Why would she visit Iran to find out about Timur, which suffered a similar fate as India in the past with his attacks. Timur’s major monuments are in Uzbekistan and not in Iran. She conveniently refuses to address the description of Somnath temple in Sanskrit sources where it appears with a different name “Prabhasa Patan”. She assumes that Akbar didn’t know what was inscribed on the pillar because it was some British guy who later deciphered it. How can she jump to this conclusion? As the sources are silent, there is also a possibility that someone during Akbar’s reign translated Brahmi for him to understand the inscriptions on the pillar. These and many other instances clearly show that enthusiasm to discover something in new generation scholars of History doesn’t translate into experience which actually generates expertise to understand history through various lenses. As a matter of fact most of the modern Indian historians specially from the JNU Gharana, consistently and conveniently are reluctant to dig deeper into folklore traditions which have remained a key for transfer of knowledge in successive generations. Such reluctance in a country which is known for its oral tradition of preservation of history, is deeply concerning.

@@udayraj6976 if the sources support it then definitely.. but if it is all tell tales then I will not accept the left or the right... like how the inscriptions of quwwatul islam mosque near qutub minar states that it was built by the destruction of 27 temples.. we will definitely accept that but if you say babri masjid was built by the destruction of a ram temple than you will have to provide sources of first that it existed, then it's destruction and then the construction... and as the judgement clearly states we don't know the answer to them.. and the evidence is all superimposed and not studied properly..

@@garimakilledar5810 again the same thing, if u really are truthmonger then you should not listen to anybody apart from archaeologists. historians will have a bias. problem is the ones you like are the true historians and the ones you dont are just spreading hate and its just propaganda. i have seen people who dont even believe the archaeologists, just because it doesnt fit in their pov. dont just go for one historian.
