I will never be perfect and honestly. I am a worse person than when I was religious but if there's one thing I endeavour to be, is still a loving and caring person, someone who will go above and beyond for others. It's not easy, sometimes life, hell I get in my own way but no matter what issues I have with religions and certain ideals, if I can just have that unconditional love that I was taught to strive for in Sunday school, if I am able to get that someday then, no matter what else happens, I'll be happy.

This broke my heart, but I felt it so deeply. I’ve been raised in a Christian home, and growing up has made me hate religion so much because I see the pain it’s caused so many people. But it’s been two years since I gave my life back to Christ, and holy cow has it made life so much more purposeful. As I’ve read the Bible more & had fellowship with God, I’ve come to terms with the fact that: Christianity isn’t about following a list of rules. Jesus died so we didn’t have to worry about simply living by the “LAW” but we can be saved by His GRACE alone. I needed a sign, I got it. This song, this video. It hit me. Right now I am struggling for one year with my faith. I used to be leader of many people, I love that. I used to ministry, I love that. I used to have beautiful, deep, strong relationship with God, I lost that. I miss it so much, but somehow religion and people in church... destroyed me. If any non-believer is reading this now and questioning why they should go to church then - just to remind you, nobody is perfect. Absolutely nobody. But trying to be perfect needs to be confronted in love, not it hate. I used to be atheist, then came to God, because He reveled Himself to me in special way that I couldn't say that God is not real. It was strong, I was healed, so I know that He exists. So no, I didn't grew up in Christian family so I don't understand lots of problems which "christian kid" can have. Went through a long season of doubting my faith and this song speaks volumes to me. Wow what an amazing song . I was raised in one denomination and chose another later in life and then i turned away. 2 years ago started seaching again but loosing my faith didnt think i could be good enough due to the way i was raised. I do not go to church but i listen to sermons that are amazing and 6 months ago i was so broken and hit rock bottom and that is when God gave me my sign. As a pastors child, the pressure to be perfect has always crushed me. As I got older I began to hate God and my parents. I was the child who fell from the family, the bad child, the hated child, etc. It wasn't until I was a young adult and found God for myself, not because I was told to love him but because I wanted to love him, that I started to love my parents again and praise God. Powerful song bro! "Where's your righteousness?" Something I realized recently is that the Hebrew word for "righteousness" is the same as the Arabic word for "relationship". This means that in West Semitic, and probably also for a period of time in Hebrew, the word carried both meanings. What this means is the fact that we are made righteous in the blood of Jesus means that in Him we are able to have a status as the beloved of God, and because we already have it in Christ this righteousness cannot be produced by our actions. Instead, righteous action is produced by this righteousness, as we grow closer to Him. There is still justice in God, but our righteousness doesn't depend on us. Definitely felt the religious burnout but realizing this really helped draw nearer to Him than ever before.

The way I grew up, I was told to question my faith. That's what enables you to learn and find answers. Sometimes it's your own answers, doesn't have to be the words of a prophet, the scriptures, or of another. I'm not great at following the rules of my religion, but it doesn't diminish that I still seek there to be a God. Even if that very God tells me I am damned to an eternity without his presence in my view, I still wish for such a God. For all who believe in God, realize this. God is merciful as he is just. There are two sides of justice, the one we wish and the one we don't wish. Though it's not quite like ours with vagueness and questions. It's an absolute truth. You sew your own seeds. Does that mean you need you follow the rules of whatever religion you follow? I don't think so, live your life how you please. We were given agency to do just that. It's our freedom of choice. For those who know of this portion, Christ had a plan to send us to earth with the ability to make choices and gain experiences which could determine our eternity and give all the glory to God the Father. Christ' brother, Lucifer/Satan/etc sought to send us for a determined fate and take the glory for himself. Live. Eat. Gain joy and sorrow. Experience the life you wish, just be prepared to live the eternity you chose.

This is such a masterpiece 🥰 Growing up, you can say that I was a free bird cuz my parent always tells us to not let our cultures and people decide what we believe and we grew up in a Christian Country. Anyone who is offended by this song does not truly understand the lyrics. I was raised by deeply religious parents based on a religion in my culture. And I believe and follow what I was taught but I don't consider myself religious. Religion separates people and there is so much confusion in the world or bad things done in the name of religion. It's not wrong to question it, it's up to the individual to disect it and separate the good from the bad, and peel back the layers to understand God on a deeper level. To understand ourselves and if we want to reach a higher level and become an exalted human being and comprehend God we should do so spiritually not religiously with conflict, hate and separation.
