For Android users.This option only stops download automaticly.But if you still want to download it,it will show up in your gallery.Only option that I could do,is to Hide waap album ,by clicking on it(mark it)and then hide.After that all photos from waap will not Show in your gallery with other..

This video is misleading. The images are still saving on your phone, but you just can't see them. It's saved in a hidden folder. So it doesn't stopping anything

Then hide waap album(mark it). After that waap photos will not show up,with other in gallery.Thats the best solution I think.And after some time just delete trash from that album

Looks like everybody in this comment section is braindead. I have to reply to you because i think there is no way to make files not saveable to your gallery, you can just hide it from your eyes, but the files still exist.... this is what i found out today, looks like whatsapp removed the option so it can frustrate users. Since whatsapp is same owner as messinger( aka zuckeberg robot boy) its not strange for me because they also removed some options on messinger without telling their users.
