I'm strangely melancholic seeing the trailer for Space Marine II... My first real exposure to 40k was when TB covered the pc port of the first game going back what? Ten years ago? The pure joy and glee he displayed in that video and the Dark Heresy series you guys did lit a fire in me for 40k lore that has led to my bookshelf being swamped with Black Library novels. I'm delighted to see the game get another outing, but it is certainly an odd feeling.

Man i wish TB were still with us today to really tear into companies like Ubisoft and Activision Blizzard. His persective is greatly missed in the tech industry as a whole.

Geoff getting on stage going "ABUSE BAD" and then immediately following it up with promoting ubisoft and quantic dream takes the cake for most tone deaf thing I've seen all year. Would've been better to say nothing at all. I hate this kind of performative bullcrap

Not really. He was true to his statement. So many people see game companies as their public figures and get riled up about it but in reality "voting with your dollars" doesnt affect those people. It puts out the individuals working in the trenches actually developing the games we play. Yes speak out, yes protest in whatever way works for you but dont ever forget that the people who actually make these games working long hours to put out the product for you to buy and play are the ones actually affected. They need the promotion, they need the exposure and the more these companies are promoted the more eyes are also on their shady shit from execs, directors and the like.

Honestly this one was rough to watch & listen. In regards of show itself... the ads followed by more ads followed with empty platitudes and impotent "no to abuse" -message drowned by even more ads. The awards part was so minute that they might as well cut it from next years show. Also Twitch was absolutely awful - whether it was a player or encoding issue, quality was just not there. And with dropped frames -crew? I don't know what it was, whether JP's hearing problems or just tiredness from all the Final Fantasy -streaming or just not feeling it made sound editing throughout entire show absolutely terrible. With presentation sound levels jumping all around and panel members speaking, whispering and yelling all over one another while not hearing each others either I'd rather listen to more Imagine Dragons. Combined with lackluster show in general I think this might be lowest quality stuff JP put out this whole year. I liked Space Marines 2 though, so that's good I guess.
