ITRs: Venom vs Tarantula 2.0 Comparison!!

I have used quite MANY different ITR devices and i have to say this: For most of the Mesikas, when i used them, i had more than many thread-breaking experiences! I mean the threads are so sensitive, as while you perform, you literally have a room in your head worrying about breaking it. For ex. there were times where accidentally my other hand touched the thread with just a little (not much) sloppy way and it broke. No need to mention how easily the thread breaks if you try to move something compact. Full deck of cards? Forget it! Even for a 1/3 filled McDonalds cup to make it move is almost impossible! Generally whenever you try to move with such threads, you have to move carefully like a robot, move hands with frustrating low speeds and think like a newton's sensor device... But you need freedom while you perform. No fear, no thinking! Therefore i recommend three alternatives: Venom, Loops, Spectra. Strong is best. P.s: About light conditions? Come on...just wait until afternoon and you have plus the whole night! You can live with that...😉👍

Hi buddy, Nice vid. Just a little note for ya. Both these reels do not come with IET they use standard IT. Lighting is essential when doing any IT work. You have to pick and choose your moments to perform with it. As far as the setups for effects you are best to hide them in logical/explainable motions. Like you have said both of them are awesome. I rather use tarantula. As he said, it depends what you looking for. I strongly recommend you guys to try "Loops" by Yigal Mesika. Combined with tarantula you can perform miracles!

Get Uday Jadugar's Easy Reel before you get either one of them and determine first if ITR's and IET's are for you. You can pick one up at Penguin Magic for hella cheap and if you have questions as to whether it's worth it, just read the reviews there. One magician purchased 100 of them so as to have a life time supply.

Namra Sayoj if you are looking to do the EXACT SAME effect as in the movie, the real answer is no you cannot. You can perform a feat very very similar however, with the Tarantula 2. That would be the closest effect. The Venom also does a similar effect, but in order for the ring to move you'd have to modify you use of the gimmick. Yes! In the video provided with Venom it is suggested otherwise, but i have personally used Venom many times with a t shirt and shorts. You do need a get a bit creative, but it works just fine!!

I intentionally didnt show either of the gimmicks in this video so I didnt give away anything. But if you are already familiar with the Tarantula 1 gimmick, the tarantula 2 gimmick is very similar. The difference is the T2 one is a bit more ergonomic, has a USB recharge, and has a hold/release button.

Hello . Hope you’re doing well. I recently bought a Tarantula 2. Me being a first time IT user, the thread broke on me in like 1 day. I already went through 2 refills. I am not at all happy with the thread it comes with. Taking your advice i ordered the spectra stage V2. I wanted to ask is it easy enough to replace the thread? nour K there are a couple effects where it makes since to use the T2 in your pockets... Like the floating ring or mint. But the other effects where you move items across a table.. those are much easier if the gimmick is not in your pocket. However, I can see it STILL performance in your pocket. Just need to do more with your hands.

In theory though, you can absolutely use the T2 gimmick in your pocket for haunted deck! Just needs more hand manipulation. Tahir Twins tarantula 2 is definitely very cool with great effects. Please note, it is definitely harder to use than Venom. If you have never used this type of magic before, you will almost definitely break the IT a few times at the beginning. But hey, we've all been there!

Hey there. i fuc*ing hate the Tarantula 2. Just got it today. Im a first time IT user. I broke the entire spool in a single day. The refill costs 15$ plus 20$ shipping. Like wht the fuck. It can lift like not even a ring. Regretting not buying the Venom. Cause going from the trailer it pretty much moves ANYTHING. From bottles to menus to entire decks in impossible bottles. Im trying to return this thing and get a refund. Lets see. I was curious about the possibilities of venom. If you could brush me up about what it can do, that would be great. In your situation, I would say you could theoretically still use either one.... however, the Tarantula 2 will require less manipulating for you to use right away from a seated position. Should work right out of the box for you!

Honestly, I use both when I'm performing levitation tricks. I find that I use Tarantula 2 more often as I can set up something relatively fast, and if I have a pocket, I'm clean almost immediately after. Venom is much more situational for very specific tricks.

Daniel Keogh if you're referring to the lifesaver into your mouth... My best advice would be to try less when you go to spin the mint. Just like my ring, the harder you spin it the bigger your chance of putting too much pressure from your thumbs on the IT. Be very particular in the way you spin the mint to ensure it stays as straight as possible. You don't need it spinning insanely fast by any means.

Typically I'd prefer not to share too many secrets to the gimmick publicly... But I will say, be sure you start with plenty of slack in your other hand before gesturing your gimmick hand over your head. I've not experienced any issues with breakage in that move... Are you pressing the "button" on accident at the same time?

Darker Side of Magic absolutely. I had thought when I first received the gimmicks that the IT the gimmicks came with did in fact have elasticity to them, but they do not. I apologize, and I will update the video description, but you are correct. The IT I have in both gimmicks now though is in fact IET and much more effective.

the RND() I been using and creating effects with invisible thread for 13 year's I have used every handled every commercial thread elastic thread. Manual ITR,and electronic ITR that one could find online or at a magic shop. And I can honestly say using elastic thread in any of those two device's would be completely useless. So if you are doing that you wasted good money on ITRs that are set up perfectly fine as they come out of the box. Again elastic invisible thread in both those systems are complete Useless and you might as well just use a normal static line body band or loop if you are using elastic invisible thread....

Lockey530 Heng I have been able to mimick some tarantula effects using one Venom device. It's a bit harder to do somethings, but it's very possible. For me, I use the tarantulafor them tho, and keep the Venom for doing what it does best (acting as two gimmicks together)

I didn't give a clear answer to which is better, b/c they have very specific cases where one is better than the other. However, I've found in recent months that I tend to use the T2 more often than the Venom. T2 is more versatile with what you move/levitate, and Venom is more situational IMO

I gotcha. Its hard to be too specific, as it could potentially give away some details to how each gimmick works. What I tend to do is if i have anything on a table in front of me light enough, I'll try to use T2 and see if it flashes before anyone is looking. Usually I can pull something quick and make a trick out of it with T2. If not, I can always hover my ring, a mint, or set up haunted deck, etc ;) .... Pretty versatile. Otherwise, I can resort to Venom, but if I want to use items on a table they do need to be set up ahead of time, which can be annoying. Otherwise, you're left with doing ring tricks... but only if lighting is optimal. While you can certainly replace the IT in Venom with something thinner, it makes using the Venom more difficult; as such, Venom tends to require dimmer lighting than T2. Ideally, I try not to do any IT tricks (T2 or Venom) unless I'm sure the lighting is good. Then I know I could use either/or w/o fear of flashing.

Swami Abhedananda I would NOT recommend using the venom with the factory IT it comes with in the daylight. Very visible. If you change to something like Infinity V2 it's much more concealable though! Cleanup is very easy with all of the Venom routines I've been using, including ring flying ones.

Swami Abhedananda in the evening light you should be fine. Directly under a street light will strongly depend on the brightness of the light. I think in most cases, if that's your only source of light, you'll be ok. As soon as the side to side effect is done, you're basically completely free in one simple motion that doesn't look obvious if you do it right. No gimmick device is held in your hands for the Venom. Keeping the details secretive is baloney. Magicians should have an idea of what they're buying. It's not going to change much if they see the actual device. They won't be able to build these tiny and precise reels themselves. And Tarantula, Venom etc. have quite different purposes buyers should know about. I personally know what they're like now, but I'm still frustrated by vague reviews. Stop acting like you're avoiding a secret method to a card trick. We all get what ITRs do. But what makes each one special?
