The fact that joyner tried to pitch this as a show shows his creative genius. This would be a dope premise for a show. He said it would have been him and rotimi starring in it. He been sitting on this for a year.

Him dropping “Cut u off” right before this there is definitely a theme to this album. The previous track was Joyner pretending he was above it and his perspective. This track “broski” is Joyner tapping into what his friend was thinking for real and how he can see both sides. I don’t think it was just about “fake friends” but also about how your friends can be struggling financially and mentally seeing you outgrow them, and how difficult it is to have an actual bond with them anymore if they aren’t on your same level, because the relationship becomes one sided. It’s much deeper than just hating on the dude asking for money. Joyner has day 1s and clearly elevated the people around him putting them in music videos and helping their careers. This is someone who he has actually tried to elevate with him and even still it’s not good enough. Remember Joyner has a friend who took his own life as well, so he’s not the type to ignore other perspectives. That’s why his story telling is so good

Nah, just like with Em fans sometimes, you’re looking for deeper meaning in something that’s not there. There’s literally NOTHING that can be redeemed in a person who has those types of feelings inside for you that’s that close to you. It’s literally physically dangerous. Joyner is one of the most creative artists out there and while this was yet another creative video and song, it really wasn’t anything more than a “fake friends” warning. Also, he borrowed heavily from Hopsin’s “Alone with me” concept. He just took that idea and flipped it into a “fake friend” concept. When he got to the part where he said that he would never be Kendrick, Cole, or Drake, that pretty much confirmed my suspicions about that. The fact that Hopsin admitted to being jealous of Joyner in that video tells me that he was somewhere in the world frustrated as Hell cause I KNOW that he recognized the similarities. Poor Hop can’t catch a break.🤦🏽♂️🤣

imma be honest, I found Joyner through his music like this. He has this shit mastered and im just here for the class :D tho i will say i am glad its not everything he does. I think he deserves to talk his shit sometimes and get in a ignorant sorta tone. It seems to be a badass way to talk his shit and get it off when he's feeling good about himself. I think its a nice way of him letting off steam from just making only negative sided tracks.
