Man man man! Joyner knows how to provoke them deep emotions! This is a gem of a song. Content is heavy and needed to be spoken on. Let's talk about the cinematography... top notch and definitely hit the mark. Say what you want but Joyner doesn't miss. This is an older video and actually one of my first introductions to Joyner. This track will forever be in my heart. Thanks for covering this and bringing it back to light for those who've yet to see early Joyner.

Me too man and I’m still going through suicidal thoughts. Lost all my money and been used by what I thought were friends at the time but only hung around me because of my money. Now I’m broke and still struggling with mental health. I was doing great on my medication but then they had to postpone my medication and it’s hard to deal with this on my own. I’m mentally tired and I don’t want to do anything to make my family sad or depressed I just need help

It’s crazy man! Stevie, a couple years ago I was suicidal asf and tried taking my life multiple times after both my little brothers passed away in a double drowning. So I hit rock bottom of depression and I didn’t know how to cope with it and I would visit this song every time I’d attempt to take my life and it would help me in the smallest way. And the strangest thing, at this is the very moment I stumbled across your reaction videos during this exact time of my life. Stevie, you helped me find a love for music again which definitely contributed to me sticking around. There was one time I was about to take my life and I tried to send you every doller I had in my bank (which was only like $600) because I felt like your reactions were what was the only remedy I had at the time. And for some reason the transaction didn’t work. so I tried to buy $600 worth of your merch and that also didn’t work 🤷🏻♂️ It’s nostalgic to see you reacting to this song because you and this song is the reason my beautiful 3 month old daughter has a healthy dad today

What's crazy is this didn't actually happen to him. It happened to one of his cousins or someone he knows. To me that makes the song even better because as a writer he was able to dig into the experience without personal experience and make it feel genuine while still producing a banger. That's some top tier level artistry if you ask me.

What's crazy is how dumb people are. You literally say this didn't happen to him and then say it was one of his cousins or someone he knows. Stick with me here and read as slowly as you need to understand. If his cousin or someone he knew killed themselves, then Joyner has indeed experienced this. Read it a couple times to let it sink in.

@@kidsontheblock2680 The guy at the top said that he didn't experience it and that it was his cousin's experience, meaninghis cousin was the one who lost somebody. The second guy is saying that it's his cousin who committed suicide, meaning joyner did experience it. That's the false information he's talking about. Apparently, the suicide letter his cousin left was the inspiration for the first verse.

Whew. As a grown ass man that has only ever heard one of his songs previous. That video sent emotions out of me I haven’t seen in a long time. It hit home. When I was a cop I went to work one night and was determined that that night I was gonna go to work in a uniform I loved, in a car I took pride and use the gun that was my guardian to end my own life. For some reason my Sargent put a rookie with me to train. It saved my life. I called him and told him I needed help. Spent the next week in a hospital. Spent a couple of those days pounding my face into the floor trying to think of anything but. Asking God why I was like this. Pleading with him to fix me. I struggled with it until last year when I met my mentor. A strong man. Taught me how to become a man. I’ve never publicly told that story. But this song. Jesus Christ did it break me for a second. Thank you for sharing that.

My younger brother took his life and this song hits DEEP. The way Joyner reacted in this song is so relatable to the feelings I had. I wrote a poem to help cope and process my feelings. A poem to my little brother: You will always be my younger brother You could never be replaced by another So many great memories we've shared But with what happened, I was unprepared It took a while to cope with the decision you made So many questions, at first I felt betrayed It was so hard to embrace the pain So on myself I placed the blame The memories are there, can't erase my brain So I had to learn to replace the flame With a fire that burns for you I know you're with me so my concerns are few It's a new life lesson; I had to learn this too Just know your family still yearns for you So many words that were left unspoken I remember the times, you and I just jokin' To this day my heart is still broken I wish it were a nightmare from which I could be awoken I never imagined living life without you I know life can be hard, I have my doubts too I just wish you would have sought me out, dude Not a day goes by that I don't think about you I am glad to know you are no longer oppressed with grief Or feeling like you are always stressed and beat And although I was confused and left in disbelief My brother, all I ask is may you rest in peace
