Sorry you didn't see the crosses Adam , they are there. I think last week was the annual gathering of clergy from all over the world down at the cave. It is a big deal. The whithorn dig that was in the 1980's is in the local town of whithorn. 1500 medieval graves , early monastery, a very important place back in the day. Royalty visited often.I worked there as an archaeologist. Just a reconstruction now. Oh dude , you were in my village getting fuel, I would have gave you a meal and you could have had a shower. And the video started with you at my park up where if I can't go far, I just go there for a night or two. Love to see my home area, reminds me of how lovely it is. Sitting in my van watching this in the mull of galloway I past the beach spot just past port William where you spent the nyt looks a great wee spot I stayed at isle of whithorn and was going to go to st ninans cave but never after watching this I’m glad I never bothered 😂 n u should have went down to sawny bean cave it’s a great cave to visit n defo go for a van I got a t6 and loving it

'Those Happy Days' peeps are now selling their camper car and about to buy a VW Transporter type van so they can travel the USA, so they are upgrading too! It's not the vehicle you drive that matters, it's all the excellent content you guys give us that's more important! Keep on keeping on, find some squeaky gates and keep on being YOU whatever you drive! 😁

Hi Adam, if you’d have stuck with the HGV driving, you could have bought a Car Transporter like that one and have been able to take ALL of your vehicles out together and pick and choose which one to use every day on your travels lol

thoughts for what its worth Galaxy and Van is plenty!!! You dont need 3 vehicles to tax, service, M.O.T, and insure far too many expenses 😢 get a mid size van like a VW T5 or a Renault Traffic perfect size less leaning over and easy to park and good on fuel ⛽️ 😊

St Ninian was a Scottish saint who had a priory at Whithorn. He converted many southern Pictish tribes to Christianity. Which given afew hundred years later, the mighty Roman Empire who had just conquered England & wales was building a wall to keep THEM out, was no easy task and very dangerous. That cave has been venerated and visited by pilgrims since atleast the Norman medieval age, circa 11 century. I think there was a wall built into the cave around the 12/13th century meaning it would indeed have been bigger, unless I’m mistaken. The loose stones are left by Christian pilgrims some with engraved crosses. Some stones date back to medieval times.

I thought I recognised Ailsa Craig and that lay-by you stayed in….I was there on 1/7/24 😊 I’m heading back possibly to Scotland again next Sunday still haven’t decided exactly where….did the north coast, some of the one you’re doing and Skye in under five weeks and obviously missed loads. I was thinking of going the other way round….it all looks so different! i took my two cats and returned with two 👍 so they get to come with me again, they appear to enjoy it, they have have bloody good taste!

@@wanderingwhere yes I then saw your post picture and recognise that too is it Dumfries New Abbey….stunning little nooks all the way along a straight road where you can pull in…it’s tidal. I also liked Garve, Ross-shire I stayed in a lay-by in Lochluichart near Dundonnell I barely slept taking lots of photos stunning landscape and sun making everything orange and purple all night it didn’t set…mesmerising.. but it all is really isn’t it and very addictive ❤️

@@wanderingwhere in that case do what makes you happy and off load both the zaffy and galaxy to fund the van and then use the van to ferry family around. I used to car camp in a 4x4 which was great but the big C gave me and the mrs a boot up the rs and we traded up to a van which I converted and haven’t looked back. Whatever you do make sure it makes you happy 👍

Vans are great, but they all have flaws. Transits, sprinters and Transporters are prob most common, yet they all suffer with rust issues. The French and Italians use galvanised chassis but don’t know how to build a reliable engine or electronic components. They can become money pits very quickly. If you really wanna go for a van, make sure you bring an actual mechanic with you for an inspection. Remember that most commercial vans are not properly looked after and constantly on wet mucky building sites. I’ve seen 3 year old vans absolutely destroyed by rust. Rust is a vans number one enemy and welders seem to think that they can charge IT consultancy fees to fix them. Buy an already converted one and you run the same risk given majority are laying up for long periods in winter. If you do find a van that’s clean, keep yourself some cash to have the underneath completely sealed. If I was in your shoes, I’d sell the Zafira and the galaxy or Kia and put the money towards the best van you can get. Keep one car for local run arounds and just do all the camping in the van. It doesn’t make sense to keep the Galaxy when getting a van other than car park barriers, but you have the same problem when you add the roof tent or roofbox, so it’s totally pointless to keep both when ultimately you want more space. People aren’t gonna stop watching you because of moving away from car camping. TBH, the car is fun, but gets a bit boring. Van build will give you loads of new content and likely gain even more subscribers. You can still do some car camping in the Kia or Galaxy, but again if i was in your shoes, I’d only use the van and maybe do some wild camping. I’ve been at the car camping myself for 5 years, mainly as I do a lot of sea fishing at night and the only things stopping me getting a van is the height barrier and somewhere to park it outside my house without causing carnage to all my neighbours.

I agree with keeping the kia, but I think the galaxy needs to go. Doing a build on the galaxy, defeats the point of doing the build on the kia. So use the kia as a small stealth car camper. And get a van as the new galaxy. I think alot of people watch you for you, not the car camping. But if they do, you will have vanlife and car camping avenues 👏
