I have owned 8 S2000s, best car ever. The new one needs more power, none of the new luxury high tech crap, must be 6 speed only, and no EV. If it is EV, I will switch to the Z. If it were 6-8 inches longer, that might help use the Camaro platform that hopefully could be shortened. Power, changing gears, the roar, handling and the unique style should be the focus.

Every video I watched about the new z complains about higher speed stability. I owned 2 ap1s, still own 1 and a fl5. If I didn't already have a 2 seater I would have bought a new supra. Most of the s2000 owners may feel the same way. It's not practical to own more then 1, 2 seater.

I have an ND Miata that I drive like ALL the time on the best so cal mountain roads...what I see a lot of? Miatas and Porsche Boxters and Caymans....what i rarely see? Camaros and Zs (and Mustang "pony" type cars in general) confirming my belief that though many of these are technically capable? They technically CAN move at a good pace? They simply are not fun making that happen (as they destroy their more expensive rubber)....same with vettes same thing hardly see em .....when I DO see these heavier larger footprint heavier platforms? Currently own an ap1 and a fl5. They are both different beasts on their own. As much as well all want a new s2000. I really don't see if happening and if it does it will be 70 grand plus. The market for a 2 seater sports car isn't their. Honda gave up on coupes years ago. I don't see then making another convertible. The ap1 weighs 2800 lbs. With all the advances in safety and what's required it will be over 3000 lbs.

Let’s be honest here the reasons Honda has been failing is they are no longer affordable. They used to make cheap good quality cars that were reliable and good on gas. Now they make 1.5l with turbos and it all costs 60+ k They sold the civic si in Canada for over 60k a type r is close to 100k here. The fun shit ain’t affordable anymore and no one wants to build the shittier models. Cause they’re crappy for building. The engine won’t take any power and the price tag is too high. I love Honda so much I would rather a new s2k than my 2021 miata. But the miata with only 10 k kms on it was 30 k and a civic so was 65k so you do the math on that. 190 bhp in a lighter car or 200 ish hp in a heavy 4 seater that’s not NA power. Hm.

They would had to go with the same mindset of making it for the special anniversary rather than making money. Maybe make to order like Tesla straight from factory. But comparing a multitude of cars released in the 2000s, they would have to have a special engine that is its own. If they want to keep the longer surface look, maybe just stick the tlx type s engine crank it above 400.
