I'm so inspired by how you don't just use your grimoire to store information, you actually use it to make magic in. I love the pages like your portal page, makes me think about the possibilities...

Thank you! I know I'm not as stringent as some may be about what goes in my grimoire, but if I feel it should live there, then it does! But my book of Shadows holds a lot of the other stuff that doesn't make the cut lol 😂 lol I want to start making my bos more beautiful though, thanks to a lot of your inspiration and our talks of beauty. It's so valuable and therapeutic! I'm working on a video about that coming soon too ;)

Your comment about one of the reasons why journals are important is because you learn about what you love or how you want to organize. I've realized that I LOVE affirmations, like you, so I'm going to make my next grimoire around my affirmations & rituals throughout the seasons
@Theescapist_879 ай бұрын
This is gorgeous! Also, I don't know if it's just me, but it feels so intimate looking into your grimoire. It's like seeing you for who you truly are if you strip everything else away but the spirit.

I don't think it's just you, cause I really agree. I have a super ecclectic and not very standard witchy practice, so my book does look quite different lol. I was hesitant to even share it at first because of that, but I'm glad I persevered so I can have meaningful chats with folks like you! Here's to sharing ourselves unabashedly!
@carliemichelle311010 ай бұрын
Oh yes. Your self love journal I bought from you and finished, that’s were i would put affirmations, empemphera , my cacao rituals etc. and words of power. Definitely have a different grimoire that. ❤

I'm so glad that book worked for you! I'd love to see a flip through of that book, to see all the goodies you packed it full of! Also, thanks for the vote of confidence in having a different book for affirmations and words of power. What a great thing to call affirmations! Because Words of Power is totally what they are!

I think I rarely see people creating journals or books themselves like physically and not digitally anymore so this was so refreshing and inspiring :D Thank you so much for the flip through. The colours and collages were amazing and all the effort and love you poured into it is priceless :')
@ElderberrySprout2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I feel like the physical book is more powerful than digital for me cause I can have it in my hands. There's something about a thing existing physically that helps me connect to it better. Plus it's an excuse to make more art magick!

Yes, I super-love your Tamlin page, but so may beautiful pages - oh my goodness! I so admire your beautiful styles of lettering, the way you use your metallic watercolors, the breadth of your interests that you've included - so much to enjoy in all of your journals. I'm surprised about your "need to have fun" - you radiate fun and joy in both your artwork and the way you narrate your videos. It can be so strange how we see ourselves so differently sometimes. But I do hope you have a wonderfully fun 2024, and thank you as always for inspiring us!

Oh my gosh, lulu, thank you so much for your heartfelt appreciation! I feel so seen 😊 It is interesting how our perceptions of ourselves differ from others' perceptions of us. I think you guys get to see me on the channel for the times that Im having fun, but in daily life I need to focus on non-productive pleasure more lol. I've got to overwrite that deep seeded productivity addiction 😄 but I'm glad I get to share fun vibes I have with you guys in this lovely safe space here :) hopefully I'll be able to share even more fun this year! I hope you have a 2024 filled with love and inspiration lulu!

Love you Grimoire. I love everything in it, but especially love the page on having fun. I agree with you, once we are adults we forget how to play. Kids are so care free and are excellent teachers for us to remember our innocents.

Thanks dawna! I need to remind myself to play constantly! It takes practice to turn off the productivity part of my brain XD I feel so thankful to work with kids to be reminded of that frequently lol

Your journals are amazing, thank you for taking us along on your journey when being creative! All I can think of is your journals being handed down in the far far future and child/teenagers going thru them - I would have loved that as a teen and would have found it so inspiring to be creative.

This was absolutely beautiful! The colors, the contrast, the differences in all the pages and spreads! Loved it, absolutley loved it! 😍😍 I've been playing around with different shapes lately, but for some reason never thought to trace my own hand haha! 🖐✨️ Really liked those pages and also the ones that folded out, reminded me of old pirate maps holding secrets and treasures! 😂 Can't wait to see more pages and spreads in your new grimoire! You always inspire 🎉

Thank you for watching! I'm so glad you're feeling inspired to do a hand spread if your own. I hope you're good at writing with both hands cause it took me quite a while to get both hands all drawn up! It is such a fun shape, especially in a half letter sized book! It's really satisfying how hands fit perfectly on pages :) Also, I'm thinking of doing a video of different types of flip outs, so stay tuned for that :)

love the "new earth" page - i don't understand the new age stuff at all, sorry, but what it reminded me of personally was solarpunk - a movement in literature and art towards a better, greener future, involving imagining utopia (or progress, regeneration after dystopia, etc) so that we have something to work towards! it's very political, as you can imagine, but in a hopeful and optimistic way.
@ElderberrySprout10 ай бұрын
I have a pretty ecclectic practice, so so totally makes sense you dont understand all of it! I'm sorry i didn't explain the new-age-ness of the spread. If I did, we'd be here all day! I love the solarpunk ideology/vision! Your right, the new earth spread really does fit with that energy! I wish I had talked about that lol. That utopian regenerative energy is so hopeful. I really try to take action daily to embody that mentality. Maybe I can do a whole spread in my vision book about that! Thanks for the idea achilleus!! 💡 ✨️
@achilleus991810 ай бұрын
@@ElderberrySprout no need to apologise, you're under no obligation to explain it all - just wanted to acknowledge my ignorance on that in case i was way off base with what it made me think of! my personal practice is naturalistic paganism, so fairly different, but i'm very inspired by your stuff - and by what you just said about solarpunk - "regenerative" is absolutely the right word!!

do you have any videos on making/binding the book itself? i love how it looks!

I did a 4 part series recently called "make a book of shadows with me" and that had a slightly different binding method but I liked how that turned out super well! I have a playlist for that series if that helps :) good luck on your own book!

I am obsessed with this journal. One day I hope to have something similar. But I always stop myself. I’ve chosen Spark for my word because life has been so hard I feel like I went into hibernation.
@ElderberrySprout10 ай бұрын
Spark is such a great word for the year! And I'm so glad you like my book! I encourage you to get started on a book of your own, even if you don't like your first book, it's good to get practice and art is really therapeutic :) I wish you luck on your own book whenever you start one! P.s. you can always glue over pages you don't like lol I do that a lot!

This is so beautiful and inspiring. I'm currently working on creating my own grimoire from scratch. I hand tore each edge of each page and have arranged into signatures, next step is sewing which isn't a strength of mine, but it's a goal to learn it in 2024. I hope you show us the creation of your next grimoire (if you feel comfortable doing so) :)

I would absolutely love to show the whole book binding process! That are so many different ways to do it! I generally use a pamphlet stitch for my grimoires if that's helpful at all! I will definitely share my next book process :)

@MoonlitBookworm735 ай бұрын
My best advice is to get notebooks you don’t care for. There’s like a ten pack of Kraft notebooks on Amazon that are very cheap, thin (like 60 pages), easily transportable, and just very easy to not care about lol. I find that I’ve done my best writing and grimoire notes in that kind of notebook because it’s not about “keeping it pretty,” it was never pretty to begin with.

It can be super daunting, thats a huge part of why I gravitated to the junk journal style. Since I made it myself, I know its something I would be able to make again. And I also feel less precious about it because its made from literal junk! I wish you luck and I hope you dive in. Its better to have ugly notes than no notes at all, That way you can see your progress as well :)
@ElderberrySprout4 ай бұрын
I concur! I could never work in a beautiful tooled leather, parchment filled book for that exact reason. The empty pages were too beautiful to begin with! A lot of my pages I need to cover up scribbled notes, or advertising for junk mail!
