Just got to say, awesome bigfoot with a saw logo. Wish I had thought of that. By the way, I own bigfoot logging in Mississippi, I was in September 2019 southern logging time magazine. 1 truck with a cable loader and a tractor no loader. I load logs with just a pto cable loader homemade out of a rear end and drill pipe with pulleys, 1992 Ford f700 single axle and carrying 10-15 tons piggy back, no tandom axle. Look me up. Heck, 8ft down here pine can go as short as 12.5 and hardwood/pallet wood minimum 18.5 , you got me thinking I need to move to Tennessee, logging seems better there

One thing you’ll have to watch for is if there is to much backlash in the cable is a loop of cable will get over those ears and knot everything up or break the cable. Looks like that one has had it done before looks like by the wear marks around it.

Hello guys.... I heard you mention something about backlash on that john deere winch in the video. There's a way to put tension on the drum to keep it from freewheeling so much. Should have a big nut on a threaded bolt on outside of case to put more tension on drum. From back of skidder looking toward front should be on the right side. Just loosen jam nut and turn tension bolt in as someone drags cable to get desired tension. Love the videos guys. Please be safe and Happy Logging.....

All ones I've seen have a vent on top of the left side cover. Also I'm not sure why it should leak out of the top of that gasket you showed (2nd leak) that tells me you totally filled the which with hydraulic fluid. The level plug is on front of winch by that cobbled up plate that holds the winch cable coming from cab.

Well the JD winch is gear driven and the gearmatic is drum and band driven. Gearmatic slips a lot easier so to be honest the JD winch is a better winch but I’m not saying it was worth the time or aggravation lol
