I'm not British, just not a fan of the seemingly American misconception... The UK has about 1/6th the homicide rate per capita of the US, and a lower knife homicide rate as well. London specifically has about 1/3rd the homicide rate of New York City, New York City being statistically one of the safer cities in the US nowadays. Not one US state has a per capita homicide rate lower than the UK national average, meanwhile the worst states such as Louisiana and Mississippi have homicide rates exceeding 20 times that of the UKs, making them more comparable to certain Latin-American nations. Stats referenced are from the UK ONS, US CDC and FBI, and the NYC Mayors Office.

I had installer issues with the mod as well. How I personally got it to work without having to reinstall Fallout 4 was: 1. Downloading the mod through GOG Galaxy. 2. Pressing the small button with the two sliders on the top of the window, selecting Manage Installation, then Show Folder. 3. Inside of that folder, Dragging out the Data folder and compressing it into a .zip file. 4. Installing it to a Mod Organizer instance that was made specifically for Fallout London. If you do it this way, you can also still play base Fallout 4 without having to uninstall the game, delete the modded files and then reinstall the game.

Not going to lie, it's kind of ironic at 6:36 as I was actually a 3D Artist on their team, I had to go on a hiatus for some personal reasons and when I came back, the leads/director (Ironically again, Prilladog) wouldn't acknowledge my messages or respond to my messages to say I was back and ready to work and eventually I just found one day that I suddenly was just no longer their 3D Artist, no warning, no responses still, just kicked off the team with no notification, rhyme or reason. Don't get me wrong, it was an honour to work with the team because at first everyone seemed really nice, just a shame the way it all went. Despite that, I'm glad the Mod got finished and finally came out and proud at how good it came to be despite Bethesda's updates getting in the way.

Took me a little fiddling, but holy cow. 4 hours in and I'm having a blast. I've been looking forward to fallout London for so long and so far it's delivering in a huge way!

Enderal, the BIG Skyrim total conversion mod, did the smart thing. The world is smaller than Skyrim (about a third i'd say) and the game focussed on it's main story, which was very well written and paced. They didn't have to fill a massive world with relatively simple fetch quests. Much more work but feels more like a real game. Later DLC added 2 massive faction questlines, so now there is more than the main story. There are tons off location and dungeons, which i think they have outsourced to other modders. They are hand made with love and detail, no Skyrim cave 1-25. But they are not cennected to quests, they are their own little adventure. It really is the benchmark because it does not simple fetch quests and it is not suffocated in just endless combat like so many other big mods (Frost&Co). Because that is the easy way to do it. Recently tried Fallout Nv New Frontier, and it's just endless combat. Another, better example is New California. It definitely started more complex than it then went on (too ambitious?), but it was a lot more than a simple combat grinder. btw have they renamed the mobile game which shall not be named, because it has gotten too infamous?

@@TheOfficialVexMeow Everything from finding the download in the first place to the game saying I suddenly don't have a script extender. Right now in my "working" version there are places where I'll try to reload/continue and it will simply crash, and of course we can't find out why because it's not like we can install Buffout for a crash log. This mod is designed as a replacer, overwriting the main game instead of an alternate start type DLC. Factor in whatever damage Todd had inflicted in his updates and I can see that diagnosing any of this is going to take a while.

It is actually pretty easy to get Fallout London Stable and Keep your old mod loadout without changing your fallout installation, you need to use Mod Organizer 2. I made a guide on how to do this on my channel. Thanks for the update Juicehead!

May have found a bug. In the quest "No More Heroes," which you referenced here, Harvin Quinney is supposed to offer Allen Calloway a "promotion." In my game, though, Colloway's been eating noodles for literal in-game hours, and Quinney just stands around, waiting for him to finish.

I decided to get the GOG version of FO4 instead of going through the hassle of downgrading my Steam installation of the game (GOG offers rollbacks, and makes it easy to completely deactivate automatic updates, so even if they add the next-gen update later, it should be easier to deal with on the GOG version of FO4 than the Steam version). I still had trouble with crashes, and I thought I had Buffout 4 and some other F4SE mods installed, but I discovered that MO2 wasn't handling the F4SE mods correctly, so I copied them over to be effectively manual installs. Now it seems to be working fine for me.

I actually like the idea of not a lot of guns. From a historical standpoint point that’s typically how the UK is today. There are about half a million guns in the UK for a population of about 60 million so that’s less than 1% that own them and that’s mostly for hunting. Now how that works in the Fallout universe well I can’t wait to see.

I'm still mopping up another game, but what is making me excited about playing this one soon is the fact that I am living in London, and (perhaps contrary to many) have walked around London a lot, not just in the usual tourist places, but generally. So, I am quite excited to walk the same streets, as it where, but Fallout-style, with a big cricket bat. Just as a little point. Emphasis on melee is actually quite realistic, because the UK's gun laws are such, that you wouldn't be able to easily get your hands on a gun. There just aren't many. (In the US and, say, Switzerland, there are guns in almost every home, and often army-grade and. or big calibre ones. So, it makes total sense to have less in ways of guns and ammo.

Got a weird bug that makes my lock-picking 1000+ fps and all my lock picks are instantly broken because of the way the engine is programmed. I’ve tried literally everything to fix it. The high fps physics fix does absolutely nothing, frame capping does nothing, changing the ini preferences does nothing. Have no ideas how to fix it. I’m just going to wait for a little longer and wait for these troubleshoots to be ironed out or resolved by fans.

The mod team isn't getting your info lol. The installer is using a backend to the steam db and it has to download the packages from there. Steam will ask for your login to access the db. They have to make sure you actually own the game you're trying to get files for.

I find it rather hilarious that, initial issues notwithstanding, Fallout: London has been so much better received than the actual "Next Gen Update." Anyway... I'm planning to try it in about a month, so that the dust has settled, and I have a shiny, new GOG version of the game waiting for me; I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Since i had no interest in wrecking my other heavily modded fo4 copy and was already using the gog version, i simply installed a second copy since gog's version is drm free and put folon on that one. One simple registry edit later in which i changed the install path back to the original version, and i can now play either version whenever i want. You do need to do this registry hack especially if using vortex or all your old mods will end up on the new game. One tip from me: manually save on exit, as the exit auto save isn't exactly reliable.

Unfortunately the game is suffering from crash to desktop problems when going through a loading screen, I played for about two hours last night without a problem then started getting CTD’s at almost every loading screen.

Just a heads up the advanced manual install really isn't that advanced it sounds daunting but you essentially just copy paste the code to open the steam console into your browser then copy and paste each depot download link and after that just go to your steam directory and before you enter common you will see content just go through each folder and copy and paste everything from those folders into a new one on your desktop that should be all you need to do to downgrade The downgrader did not work for me due to steam timing out so hopefully this helps others.

A simple thing too do is just cut and paste the unwanted folder to a different directory and rename it. No need to delete. This way you can put it back at anytime.

I feel like a lotta comments here have gotten the wrong idea about the melee weapon/gun ratio. As soon as you play past the first hour or two of the game you end up with an inventory full of guns just like in any other Fallout lol. All the enemies have guns too. You only get a knife as the starting weapon for the first mission, it's not meant to be a trend throughout the game.

I'm playing via MO2, and it works great. My biggest gripe, so far, is that it's annoying to see my character playing with his butterfly knife, all the time. I wish there were a way to make him less of a show-off. 😏 I've watched a bit of Londoner ESO's play-through, and he's been delighted by all the familiar sights. I'm sure Gopher will be, too, once he starts dropping lets-play episodes.

Just makes me wonder if Bethesda can work with the Fallout London team to work on converting the mod to a standalone game that does not require Fallout 4 to be installed or anything attached to it (of course keeping it free as well), besides getting the permission of reused assets from Fallout 4 itself in Fallout London. Thereby if it was a standalone game, you would not need to do all of these workarounds just to get this mod/game to run. This is the problem were at now is that mods like this are basically full on games and really should be a standalone game and not a mod of an existing retail game to run in (fallout new vegas is really the same comparison here but its a retail product instead as that was heavily modified as well). Its basically the Fallout New Vegas of Fallout 3 in a way. Frankly alot of these policies that Bethesda has for these games for modding is frankly really silly at this point and needs to start allowing mod groups like this to release mods like this as standalone games where you do not need to own the parent game. This also gets into the issue if mods like this could be allowed on consoles as well but once again is running into Microsoft/Bethesda/Playstation to allow these mods as a standalone game.

Don’t delete the fallout 4 folder, create a backup for the original inis and delete fallout4.ini, falloutprefs.ini, and falloutcustom.ini. After this put the Folon inis where those ones were. After downgrading fallout 4 and downloading mod, download mod organizer 2. Download buffout 4 and Baka scrap heap for this one, also recommend faster melee animations to make melee combat more fun and enemy melee ai more aggressive.

Normalize studios paying modders and officially adapting the mod into a game. Do you know how much good will Bethesda could get if they "made" this and sold it with the modders getting a cut + job offers. Would take a few months to smooth it into a full studio release tops.

The easiest way to get London running is to torrent fallout 4 and install London on it. I did it. Works like butter. Make sude it's 1.10.163.0 version

I have a new GOG install of Fallout 4 London. It plays perfectly up until I exit the train and then I receive a CTD. I have a second heavily modded and stable Fallout 4 Steam install that I've played for years so I know it's not my computer.

considering how badly the launch could have been all things considered i think it went pretty well, this is probably the most hyped fallout 4 mods and is getting a lot of people installing it at once, the website was real slow when it first launched

I love what ive seen but i think bethesda should do an actual official London fallout. Maybe hire them but its a perfect concept for fallout with a twist but this mod takes a direction i don't believe fallout actual would follow.

Although Classic Holstered Weapons is a recommend mod in the teams mod page, it causes CTD for certain weapons so it would be best to not use until compatibility is fixed.

The focus on melee and scarced ammo are so much music to my ears. This is the very soul of Fallout that Bethesda throw away for their quest to make Fallout theme shooter-looter that is everything they do since Fallout 4. Fallout is never an FPS, even their own Fallout 3 captures this aspect of the game better.

Dang, I bought on Gog last night because I didn't want my Steam F4 to be taken over. I would have used your affiliate link for sure! Ah well. I had some crashing at the beginning, two consistent specific locations in game, but that seems to have been solved by adding Buffout. I also had extreme load times exiting from interior to exterior spaces, like 5 minutes long. I added High Physics Fix and also Long Load Time Fix; mixed bag for some people, but they always worked for me, and that solved the long load time problem. Been stable ever since. When I first got into F: London I was instantly reminded of F3 and New Vegas in that things weren't all shiny and smooth. It feels like an earlier game, but with bells and whistles. F4 is fine, for sure, but it was too shiny and smooth meaning the feel of the Fallout games had gone from brutalism to modern suburb. F: London feels like the older games, and also being American I don't quite get everything that everyone talks about in game. Being a fan of last century British comedy I do get some of it more than I thought. lol

Buffout4 is a huge help as FO4s engine kind of sucks. I was having crashing even with a fresh install from GOG but Buffout helped and I've been stable since plus a lot of stuttering disappeared. And People need to make sure they rename their "Fallout 4" folder like you showed as a clean install of the game will not touch that folder and it can cause issues. I hadn't had FO4 installed in years and I still had that folder prior to installation.

one of the solutions i found was run the launcher as administrator. went from crashing every 5 feet to non.

All of my issues with installing Fallout London: First, was my own fault. I didnt read that the mod required GOTY/All mods. But i only had the basegame on steam, and instead i got the GOG version as that was cheaper for me. And then it constantly Crash to Desktop after the title popped up (Train) and i googled it, and the fix was buffout4. since then... 0 issues.

I could never get myself to play Fallout 4, it may run but it needs days of modding to sort out the jank and some Bethesda jank will never be gone. But downloading a ready- to- go mod that enhances every aspect sounds quite delightful :) After the TV series this will be the next boost for Fallout4 sales. To bad Bethesda threw that pointless " Next-Gen-Update" out there that nobody wants, the GOTY version is needed for this mod to work properly.
