See, 12:12 is why Daichi's been yelling more this season - getting ready for having to yell over everyone at Nationals x) Inarizaki’s cheering squad music was performed by Funabashi high school brass band, apparently a pretty famous one with a bunch of awards from music competitions! As for Inarizaki's banner, not gonna say much now, but there's an expression in Japanese, 思い出作り - literally "making memories". It's something we've already heard back in 1x01, when Kageyama asked Hinata just what has he come here [to the tournament] for, "just to make some memories"? So ~in a way~ it can be interpreted as a "we're here to win" statement. There's more to it tho, imo Inarizaki's banner is one of the best ones in the story.

Inarizaki's banner "We don't need memories" can be taken in many forms. But I think it correlates to what kageyama said to hinata on the first episode "are you here to make memories?". I think it simply means they are not here to just play and enjoy, they are here to win the competition all the way.

I like this channel because you guys don't immediately hate on the other team like it's an us vs them type anime. So many other reactors think like that, like forming opinions already just because the new characters aren't on the same side of the court. It's an anime that tells all of these stories of growing in a sport and the trials and tribulations of volleyball. Like, Karasuno may be the protagonist team but these other teams all went through the same things as them and have their own volleyball experiences. Idk it's nice that you see Haikyuu for what it is, not so much a competition show but a story about growth and passion for the sport.

Usually, booing doesn't happen in Japan. Especially in real schools, they are playing sports for educational purposes, like human growth, discipline and mutual respect. "We don't need the memories (of participating in the tournament, we came here for the result.)"

Note: Kinkaku and Ginkaku (emphasis on the first syllable) are two famous buildings in two different temples in Kyoto. Kinkaku, or golden pavilion, is in the Western wards and covered in gold leaf. Ginkaku, or silver pavilion, is in the Eastern wards at the Northern end of the Philosopher's Walk.
