So a good way to tell if the ghost has stopped hunting is if you press your radio while hiding. If you hear static it's still hunting and if you don't you're fine. You only have to tap it, you don't have to hold it. I'm pretty sure the ghost isn't attracted to the radio static so you should be fine.

Also if you are on high school, prison, or asylum. Every 30 seconds turo on your radio if you haven't found the ghost room, So if it starts hunting keep walking around until your flashlight begins to Flicker then you know it's nearby

You can use the broadcast key (walkie-talkie) to know if the ghost has stopped hunting or not. It can be dangerous if you go out of the hiding spot to check on the ghost when not knowing if its done hunting or not. ;)
