Truth is van dyke was never really ruled their starting qb. Wisconsin coach Fickell said that in a interview. I think he was saying the only difference was van dyke had more experience and he went with at the moment the most experienced player. Locke wasn't a slouch and is gonna be very good for Wisconsin.

A lot of ppl don't know this or the casual fans who like to act like they know something ignore it (you know the ones who always say it was b/c the starting QB got hurt types...like they did when Alabama beat TX in 09 and they said the whole McCoy crap like he played defense....Bama had 2 100+yd RBs in that game). TVD and Locke were 1a and 1b coming into season and you are spot on Fickell went with the more experienced QB like any smart coach would. Talent wise Locke is as good if not better. And who's to say if TVD doesn't get hurt he doesn't throw 2-3 interceptions as he was prone to do last year.
