I'm actually in favour of the defense stats on materia since you really don't get defense easily and 2 Def is actually a 2% increase on the base 100, 7 is a 7% increase.

I haven't checked this with the defensive stats, but I've noticed with the HP. It doesn't add the amount shown, and adds a different amount and I'm not sure what the formula is that is used to figure that out

@@knowwhatimeme percentage will always be better than flat number. A flat number will always add the same amount to your stats, a percentage scales. So as your level and stats increase, the boost you get from that percentage will actually get bigger while a flat number would stay the same. So to answer your question, there are no flat numbers that equal a percentage. If you continue to level up and increase your stats

Unlocking extra slots was something I did pretty early since I've played a few other gacha games and things like this are usually pretty handy to have. I also lucked into a 5* Thunder before I even knew about the benefits from the extra materials. The sub stats aren't too great for a magic user but since it's a 5* I'm going to keep it for now.

I also want to point out that you cant get mdef/def as a percentage its only flat and its a very hard/rare stat to come by.

for Ruin and Ruin Blow 50-58 minutes = 3 star 59 minutes to maybe 1 hour and 8 minutes = 4 star if its above 1 hour and 8 minutes you may be looking at a 5 star.. this is the times without the - 30% time reduction pass.

When you upgrade a rune, it can get a double star rise. So i got a 5-star from 3-star.

Actually Auronnj the 3 star is superior to the 2 star that you liked in this video.. as the higher rarity gets bigger stat increases when you level it plus it has 3 substats open so there is less levels being used to open up a new substat.

Its better to unlock all 3 chocobos are that start even tho the last one is 1500 and unlock all 5 materia slots, large cost but great long term gain

The RNG is pretty bad for material. I got some many crap, only a few 3 star and 1x 4 star. I've only seen upgrade increase rarity once.

I recently got the synthesis open but I can only craft cure, "Shell" and "protect". How do I get through ability to craft Ruin blow, fire blow etc..? What do I need to complete?

You need to do Crisis dungeon. I can’t recall if you have it by now when unlocking synthesis. Also you can check on how to get the other recipes by clicking “recipes off” its a slider above the cost to make materia. From there you can see all the materia. Click on any materia you wish and click on the “N/A” recipe book, it will either tell you how to get it or won’t say anything l, in which case it’s not available in the game yet.

I really hate how much rng is involved in materia, it feels entirely excessive. Rng in what level materia you craft, rng in what suvstats you get, rng in what substats are revealed, rng in what stats increase on level up, rng on how much those stats increase. Just layers and layers. I thought I didn’t like the Wotv equipment leveling rng system but this is so much worse. I wonder how long before they introduce a paid pass for better rates on stat boosts when upgrading? Paid items to let you reset a materia to level 1 for another chance at better stat rolls? Feels like that’s the direction they’ll likely take it to milk out more money from people willing to spend.
