An hour to install windows? I can install windows and be on a desktop in 15 minutes.

Video it and actually time it. There is zero chance your done in 15 mins.

@@LinuxInvictus the ONLY way to do it is with a debloated or reduced ISO, and it takes a lot more than 15 minutes, even with an NVME. @donh8833 you're crazy

@@LinuxInvictus did it a few weeks ago for work. Took 15 minutes. But had modern hardware and nvme drive.

Was it a standard windows install or a image your work uses? That could make a huge difference

@@LinuxInvictus standard. But it was high end hardware (relatively speaking) Windows 11H2 for work as a test machine for work

Add time stamps to your video please. Do you discuss how to create a bootable persistent usb drive? Thats what I’m trying to do! Thanks

If your asking what i think you are, then ventoy should do that, and i go over it a little bit, but not in great detail. Also i will add timestamps, great idea. I will answer in more detail when I have more time later.

Okay i did misunderstamd your question. I have never made a persistant usb myself (thats a new project now) But you may get some use out of this itsfoss.com/ubuntu-persistent-live-usb/

I have watched several guides on installing Linux Mint for beginners and not one of them has gone through the steps of verifying the ISO after downloading it, as the Linux Mint site says to do. Are the mirrors trustworthy enough to skip this step? Is verifying the ISO something only the very paranoid need to do? I looked up the verification process and it seems complicated and pretty sketchy itself on Windows (dowloading an exe then running a bunch of shell commands).

Yes the mirrors of Linux most Linux distros are quite trustworthy. The one I picked there is one of the most important universities in Canada.
