I am just making small videos to help people who may want to live or retire here and to promote my books. I won't be traveling around Thailand making videos like I used to do it was too time consuming and expensive to keep doing the channel but when I travel for my own pleasure I may do a video if I see anything interesting worth filming. Hi Alan. Yes the same price for a year or a month. It's about as low as you can get here and much lower than a similar place I rented in Khao Takiab two and a half years ago. Regarding the plot next door since covid there are many empty buildings and even abandoned hotels throughout Thailand due to the decline in tourism over those years. Prior to covid you would see cranes and building sites everywhere but not so much today so I am not unduly worried and even if someone bought the land and built on it I am only renting so I can always move on. Hi John . Just a quick question. I started an online magazine dedicated to retirees who have already retired or are considering retiring in Thailand. Each month I will interview an expat who is currently living overseas to find out why they are thinking of retiring to Thailand in the future. If you would like to take part, I will send you a set Q&A for you to fill in and email back to me along with a photo of yourself. The questions are quite straightforward but if there were any questions that you didn’t want to answer you can just skip those. I know that many people value their privacy so if you don’t want to be in the magazine that’s ok. You can contact me through my website email address below if you want to be interviewed. Hi. You cant set up a limited company to start a business if you are retired. You can buy a house or land as a retiree by having a limited company or you can buy a condo as long as at least 51% of the block is owned by Thais. Unlike the UK Thailand looks after its own people first. Yes, you can work online as I do with my KZbin and writing books to sell on Amazon. Regarding buying a business or house through a Thai spouse, yes you can do that but if the marriage or relationship breaks down they will be in her name and if it's not an amicable split then you risk losing everything as many farang here have found out. Hi. To be honest I don't want to because living in Hua Hin I don't need one as sometimes it's too hard to park where as a motorbike you can squeeze into a two foot space (no parking meters here). If I travel to North or South Thailand I can rent a car for 12,000 baht a month fully insured, taxed, breakdown recovery and give it back at the end of the rental for them to service, maintain and clean. If I own a car then I have to pay for everything every year even when it may be stuck in a garage most of the time as I would still use my motorbike to get around town and only use the car for long distance trips. I also like the freedom that driving a motorbike gives me. Sometimes when I am driving my 105cc Honda Move I feel like Peter Fonda in the movie Easy Rider 😂😂😂😂 Cheers Ged
