@@kiahmadison8541 The dividing is not sexism, but the dividing is necessary for some women to feel safe and also to be safe. The dividing is the response to sexism, not the sexism itself. Or are you saying that certain things are sexism that are supposed to bring the sexes closer together (meaning have the same rights) like laws, for example, that if there’s a leadership position and two candidates, a man and a woman, have the same qualifications, that the woman has to be choosen, that’s for the same reason, because the last thousand of years was the other way around that in such a case the man was always taken and even today men are still often preffered, when both people are able to do the same thing or the woman even more, so nowadays there are still almost only men in the top floor. These laws and a women-only hotel, for example, are meant to make our world less sexist, not more.

@@odil2476 Perhaps teach men not to attack women not teach women to behave in a fearful way. The single gender hotel reinforces this. Yes it's not an ideal world but it causes division . As I said there is security in most capsule hotels. You are more likely to be attacked on a train. As far as the statement about two people having the same qualifications there is a simple solution. Base your decision on personality and not gender. Yes it would be great if there were more women in top positions but not if everybody hates them or they do a terrible job while they have their position. Very few people liked Margaret Thatcher once she was voted in and she caused strikes and chaos.

Actually in Japan, in most hotels it’s kept by the entrance of a room which is right by the bathroom usually or near the coat hanger. Hotels are western facilities therefore we walk in with shoes as it’s a lobby and hallways etc. Only when you walk inside a room we take off shoes. And outside of the US, even in a country like Canada, we take off our shoes at the entrance. It’s very weird to see Americans just walk into a home with shoes on or watch TV with shoes on, it’s not that way in many countries in the West like UK, Spain, France, where I also live we take off our shoes when we are invited into another home. Otherwise moms usually scold us even visitors.

@@oqeufh I didn't say it is wrong to want to travel in a safe way. I am saying it is pointless to travel and expect your destination to be just like home. Plus travelling solo is not for everyone. Especially not for people who are not prepared to handle unexpected scenarios and can only feel safe in a protected zone. Solo travelling is no joke and if you can't take the real world. Don't do it.

@@oqeufh also, most places are already safe as they are without women-only hotels. Are you seriously surprised that all reputable hotels already don't allow harassment on their premises without being women-only? But nothing can be done for percieved danger. Plus women-only hotels are not necessary safer since they will be high-target area for women-related crimes.

As a European, who can only say a few basic sentences in Japanese and otherwise can't speak and read it, I'm really happy that almost everything is there in English. Otherwise I think I would have been completely thrown out. I've heard that not many Japanese can speak English, so this is really well done. What I would personally be interested in is, how do you do that when you're hungry, go to a konbini and then can't speak Japanese. Can the cashiers and employees speak English and if not, what do you do if, for example, you are looking for something and then need help? Nevertheless, I find the idea of going to a capsule hotel designed for women only very good. I believe, it feels very safe there. Unfortunately, capsule hotels doesn't exist in Germany

As a fellow European, I'm actually glad capsule hotels don't exist. Living in a coffin-like space is something I feel dehumanising, @2:40 looks like the niches at my local cemetery. It's claustrophobic. No sunlight, no windows for fresh air. I don't care about having TV screens or integrated technology, I don't need that stuff. Cramming people in impossible spaces. And they make money out of that. Sorry, but no. I don't want this to come to our culture.

I've stayed in this Capsule hotel, it was really nice but the only thing that I didn't like it was the very thin mattress (I've stayed in other capsule hotels before and the mattresses were a bit thicker and very comfortable to sleep on) which I woke up with my body aching a lot, I asked at reception for another mattress to put on top of the other one but they didn't have it so they gave me a thin blanket instead which made no difference, so I just bent the mattress in half so I could sleep better, not the best experience sleeping. The rest of the hotel was nice though, the bathroom and the lounge were clean and the staff was friendly.

I saw a few comments asking about the lock/why it cant. Its just for safety reasons, one being airflow if that was a door that could lock it would be like being in a locked cupboard meaning suffocation could happen if you cant get out. Also for disasters even in other countries and larger hotel spaces you are told to unlock your door for fire fighters and if inaccessible theyd have to break through(which wouldnt be possible in a capsule style hotel).
