I've noticed a pattern that a lot of kids these days haven't learned humility. Why does everyone need their own identifier these days? The best answer I can come up with is because these younger generations grew up in the age of the internet. You are no longer just dealing with your smaller local circle where you can more easily be your individual self. Now we are a worldwide community. It's so much harder to be unique by just being you. So people have started to use generalized identifiers to at least be a part of a group. The problem is... they just keep inventing new identifiers to one-up each other so that they can be more unique than the next person. Society just can't mentally handle being exposed to so many people all the time. Especially people that are treated like special snowflakes in their family, but a nobody online.

I was born in the mid 90s, and I realized that most people I know who buy into the gender stuff either 1) just outsource their thinking to the "experts" so they don't have to bother thinking for themselves, or 2) did buy the "You're special just because you're you!" spiel when we were kids. A lot of people drank that kool-aid, and even at that time, some of my friends and I thought it was stupid. But it makes sense when I put it in the context of your theory. What was funny in elementary school was that we weren't allowed to say the word stupid, nor make fun of anyone. So my buddies and I used to say people who fell for that were so smart that you could put a knife in their hand ask them who's special, and they'll say "I am!" and proudly beat their chest with the knife still in their hand. Not sure why that still lingers in my memory but it sure made 10 year old me crack up.

I don't think it's unfortunate that people have voices on the internet. The travesty is how we all approach putting our voices out there, we never want to make constructive conversation or informative and respectful debate. Everyone wants to be right all the time; no one asks anything, we have to tell everyone what we believe we know is 'the truth'; no one wants to ever admit when they're wrong about something, we never even give anyone else any room to respectfully assert that we're wrong. (Case in point, Tik Tok, where every "informative" anything is actually just a condescending lecture, where you're not allowed to think otherwise, and if you do you're usually villainised or written off as a hater or whatever stupid buzz term.)

“libidoist asexual”? From that strange person’s explanation, it’s straight up an oxymoron. Libido is what gives one the sex drive. Ugh. It’s all narcissism.
@Mariet313 жыл бұрын
The asexual condition is seen as the lack of the sexual awakening and yes adults can have them. There is no evidence that it is an hormonal or mental problems, perhaps there is something else and there is no sexual awakening. The term demisexual would make sense over time, but maybe a sexologist could help with the libido of a personal of a sexual. There are periods where I can have zero libido, to mild and it causes problems because the reality is that most people don't work like this. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of a treatment that help to consistently increase the libido. Let's say, it's just a mental state that could be helped with treatment to awake your sex drive... but I doubt these people know this or have money to afford treatment. But yeah... this people is pretending this is somehow something to be proud of rather than a problem. From personal experience, I hate it but I can't pay a sexologist.
@angrymokyuu19513 жыл бұрын
I _think_ what was meant(read: the only thing I can think of that makes sense) is that the term refers to someone who's perfectly happy to spank the monkey but uninterested in interpersonal activity.

This is common misconception. Asexuality is lack of sexual orientation, not lack of libido. It is like the opposite of a straight or gay person who has the orientation, but is frigid for some reason, so they don´t want sex very often.
