This took a long time to make happen, from 3d printing blowing hundreds of dollars, to paint prep, painting, filming, colorgading, cutting down around 60+ hours of video to an hour of usable footage to the final edit. Even I forget how much time I put into this TBH.

I really like the choice of using flesh tones for Goku's body and red for his wounds. Makes Goku look more realistic (even though he's an anime character) and this gives the moment more "weight". Awesome video and fantastic work!

9 years ago I was depressed studying abroad but I saw a guy wearing a kid Goku shirt and decided to say hello. We became best friends- being the only nerds who liked Dragonball and started watching more anime together, months later we started karate together and started dating . Now I'm currently watching this tribute on his bed, wearing that Goku shirt as my boyfriend sings ~Cha la~ in the background. Absolutely gorgeous work, Papa Gundam, sensei would be proud Thank you Toriyama-sensei for everything, you've changed lives and the world is a better place because of your influence.

When the news hit, it left a painful lump in my throat. The tears couldn't fall out if I wanted them to. A handle of rum and a marathon of Dragonball was the only catharsis I could do at the time.

You dont have shed a tear in honer of anybodies death, the sadness in your heart does the job already. That alone shows the meaning this man or his work had in your life. Dont let anybody tell you otherwise. I may be repeating myself, but tears are not the only way to show sadness. So if you dont cry or shed a tear, then that is just how it is.

I have to admit, even though my consumption of anime was always pretty minor, I was always a huge Dragonball Z fan. The Bruce Falconer soundtrack really gave it an extra spiritual vibe to it. But Akira Toriyama is ultimately the man responsible for it all and we owe his memory big. Him and Roger Corman (for being the king of the B movie). R.I.P. both.

I can't stand that we live in a world where this video has been out for 40 minutes and it only has 2700 views but if it was Twitch THOT drama it would have 10k views by now. I used to watch the HECK out of Dragon Ball and DBZ back when I was a wee tot in the late 90's. To be honest, I remember next to nothing about it. But I remember the feeling I used to get when I would watch it. How much I loved the characters and looked up to Goku as a kid. I think at least subconsciously, Dragon Ball has heavily influenced me throughout my life by what it gave me when I was a kid. I'll always love Toriyama for that.

During the original run of the Freeza saga on Toonami, I was in middle school and I lived at the bottom of a long steep hill with my school at the top. If I took the bus home I would miss the first 5-10 min of DBZ and that was unacceptable. This was in the era right before DVRs became ubiquitous. So I started taking my roller blades to school. As soon as school got out I strapped those bad boys to my feet and blitzed down that hill. If I threw caution to the wind and went as fast as I could I would bust through the front door of my house right as the DBZ intro would be starting. That hill became part of my DBZ watching tradition. As a kid those were some of the best times of my life. Thank you, Gundam, the tribute was awesome Thank you, Akira

When Toriyama passed my mind went to a gent I'd worked with who I knew loved Dragonball Z with an incredible passion. I had been made aware of recent troubles in his life, and knowing that I did much the same, picked up a Goku print file off of Cults, printed, painted it, and gave it to the guy once it was done so he had a new show piece. I thought I'd done a bang up job until now, the level of detail you had put into the painting just has me floored. Incredible work on all the details, and I've now learned a few things from the video

I grew you in the 80's as a child and Robotech was the first anime I watched as a single digit child. DBZ really opened up the world to it as I could talk to my friends about it. That is an awesome tribute. Nicely done.

One of my earliest memories I have is waking up and watching a episode of dbz with my brother before school, our dad taped the episodes on vhs for us the night prior. RIP Toriyama thank you for the fond memories you crafted for millions across the globe
