It is very off-putting, to see an entire society display suicidal behaviour, a weird side-effect of Christian belief being guilt and repentance through suffering, being enacted by people who utterly despise it. It is, however, being masterfully exploited by others, if we do fall, we'd have deserved it, not for their reasons however, but simply that we lost the struggle of civilisations from our own decadence, meaning it was time for others, History doesn't end that easily.

The ESG stuff is not a joke. Got a notification my pension plan has been optimised for ESG investments, there is no way to opt out. So now my pension fund is focused on companies that aren’t focused on making the best products or services or even profit. The easiest way to bump ESG scores is to max out diversity. I was in a social meeting with some management in my company and they were celebrating the gender diversity and how they increase this. Joke is they had to specify gender diversity as I was the only black person in meeting. Now if I get a promotion I have to worry about if they were trying to meet a quota so they can pay them selves on the back when I’m not there. I’ve purposely avoided middle management bullshit roles my whole career and chose to focus on being an SME in my area. My skillset is technical not managerial. This is why when they sent a survey around asking for everybody’s ethnic background I refused to answer. The only people who don’t know I am black should not have a say in my performance and it shouldn’t matter. End of rant.

The reasoning based on my information that sweet baby Ray's can come from basically no where to work with AAA studios is because they are basically co-signing/ approving the black stone loan by making the studios meet the ESG ratings. I remember back during GG there was an article circling around about someone doing "research" on the FGC, and came away with the conclusion that players were more interested in what combat features a character had and what playstyle they encouraged when it came to deciding who to play as. Basically nobody answered that they picked a character because they had the same racial or sexual characteristics as them. This writer then went on to say this was a BAD thing.

given that they are in Montreal and a Blackrock office is in Montreal, you have far more interesting stuff going on in Montreal then people want to realize. Like the new language laws that were made, that conveniently excludes a certain tribe based in Montreal. Quebec itself is a special independent state essentially, but people don't want to admit that...just do cognitive dissonance up here in Canada. Now I have an almost Pavlovian nervous reaction when such characters pop up in newer works. Edit to add: same with female characters. I thought FemShephard was better voiced, Laura Croft was awesome, in games with character creation I was just as likely to make a female character as a male. Now, I have a hard time doing so.
