Many see this episode as the turning Point of the Show. The Pre-Chuck Era and the Post-Chuck Era. This Episode hits so hard because of so many reasons. Hector having his infamous Stroke, Howard being the toughest guy ever and paying off chuck all by himself. Chuck killing himself Jimmy righting his wrongs with ms. landry. Such a good episode…

"You never matter that much to me." That's probably the worst and most painful thing you can say to your brother. Chuck's word here is what ultimately gives birth to Saul Goodman. I feel so sad for the tragedy of the McGill brothers. What a team they could have been if they decided to set aside their differences and work together. Now that everything he lived for is gone, Chuck lost the last thing left of him: his brother. It's probably the reason why his "illness" took its toll, causing his demise.

Chuck saying “you never mattered all that much to me” is such a spiteful comment. Because Jimmy clearly mattered a TON to him, or else he wouldn’t have tried so hard to bring him down. But Jimmy remembers his last words most clearly and as such, reciprocates Chuck’s lack of care by hiding his feelings Also, I never realized before but that scene hits a lot harder after the finale

Another good thing about Blockbuster is that the number of movies they have in the store is limited, which ought to make it easier to choose. With streaming, you could scan through 1M movie thumbnails and have nothing strike your fancy.

And you had to commit, once you'd made your choice you basically had to finish it. With streaming you can start something and then a few minutes in think "Nah, I'm not feeling it", abandon it and go right back to browsing. Probably missing out on a lot of great stuff just because it didn't give that instant gratification.

Season 1, 2 and 3 are great don't get me wrong, but from this point on each successive season gets better and better. Season 4 episode 10 is in my top three of all breaking bad/bcs episodes ever produced so im super excited once you reach that point! Plus they introduce likely the greatest villain in the breaking bad universe (rivalling Gus himself).

This episode was a bit tame for a for a season finale, but this incident would set off the path for Saul's persona to emerge as Jimmy ultimately refuses to take responsibility for anything that he has caused and will blame everyone else.

Chuck was emotionally NOT in a place to have that conversation with Jimmy. I feel like Jimmy was coming from a place where, Kim his next closest loved one could have died. And he’s thinking of Chuck and how they’re on bad terms and if Chuck dies, that’s not how he wanted to leave off with him. But of course bc of Chucks emotions after Howard kicks him to the curb, that’s exactly what happens anyway. Wild.

Those pills weren't anything bad. He just filled the capsules he got the baseball cards guy with something inert. He was taking nitroglycerin for heart issues or blood pressure, which is an instant acting medication to prevent stuff like the stroke he suffered. Repeatedly having these events where he needs to take it but not actually getting the real medication eventually wore his heart down. He couldn't let them see the pills because if they (Gus) suspected the medication it could be tested and find out it's fake.

I love seeing the parallels in this show. Chuck helps build a huge business. Hector helps build a huge business. Both men are very prideful in what they have accomplished. Both men become more focused with keeping control rather than do what is best for the business. Both men get pushed aside by their business. Both men take that push very personally. Both men have huge health issues. Both men fall due to their health issues.

In S2 Ep3 of Breaking Bad after the interrogation with Jesse, Gomez says to Hank, "he (Hector) kept his mouth shut for 17 years in San Quintin. Stroke or no stroke old school gangbang Mexican's don't help the feds." It's funny how so many of us missed the writers telling us what happened to him, myself included. It's actually even in your reaction to that episode haha.

The end of the Chuck and Jimmy relationship is here and it stings especially with everything that happens later on. After everything Jimmy did to hurt Chuck wether we belive this was right or wrong almost loosing Kim made Jimmy realize just what else he could have lost. Since Chuck just got booted out of HHM and lost everything he cared for ie the law witch he did bring upon himself but now he truly had nothing because of Jimmys meddeling. Jimmy tries to mend fences probably a little too late and Chuck completley breaks the relationship being done with everything. Even then him not caring about Jimmy is a complete lie because pretty much everything he did was either for or against Jimmy. For better or worse Jimmy was his anchor into the world and after he let that go he complete unravled and lost himself. No matter how much you hate Chuck for his actions and the fact that he was a dick in many ways its still hard to see him fall so far. And what he says about Jimmy isn't exactly wrong. He did it when Chuck was hospitalized after his fall with the number deal. He did it here trying to mend things with Chuck even after everything. And he does so with Irene. Jimmys biggest problem isn't that he can't change but that he won't change in time taking too long to feel the consequenses of his actions. As we see with Irene he genuenly tought that everything would be all good man after the money was setteld both for himself and the others. Maybe since Chuck bailed him out so many times and his parents never really beliving that he could do anything wrong made him think that as long as he just feels bad sometime later everything will be fine and people will forgive him not realizing that there are limits. It is also pretty funny that with all the bad shit that happens in both shows Jimmy fucking with old people is seen as one of the most dickish things done despite how relativley benign it is. Then again personally destroying a old womans relationship just to get your cut of the money and not even thinking that its all that bad is a pretty scummy thing to do on such a personal level. The killing and torturing and drug dealing is worse put very rearly is it truly personal. Gus again just shows his biggest flaw. He had the perfect oppertunity to get Hector out of the way and later gun for the cartel. But he needed Hector alive to personally kill and torture him witch is what ultimatley killed him. Gus is so fixeated on personally getting Hector even tough he could have simply killed him in so many other ways and be done with it. This truly shows that for all of Gus being professional and all about buisness he truly was in the game for the most personal reason to get revenge and sate his sadism. But like Eladio said there can be no emotion in the game a fact that for diffrent reasons kill them both. Eladio never caring about anyones emotions got him killed by Gus as revenge and Gus never letting his emotions go got him killed. Plus the fact that even after he basically got his revenge and destroyed Hectors life and leaving him to rott and having a succsessful restaurant and probably being a milionere or possibly even bilionere he still stayed in the game for no real reason exept maybe pride and not wanting to let his empire go. This is probably because of his relationship with Max but ultimately how much destruction can you justify with the death of one man when your actions probably destroyed and killed countless more. With this while we like to think that Gus was above and better than so many he really at the end of the day was no different than Hector or Walter in that he was just as violent and willing to resort to violence and all his personal kills exept Hectors but this is due to the fact that he is in a nursing home are all extremly sadistic and drawn out hell even the cousins and the neo nazis kill in more humane ways well maybe not Tortuga and keeping Jesse as a meth slave but still. And the fact that Gus was like Walter even tough he didn't want to admit it he used his personal relationships to justify criminal activity and continued that activity even though he didn't have to having less of a actuall reason than Walter since Hector could have been killed in many ways and easier and he didn't need money since he was already insanely rich even without the illegal activity at least as of better call saul. In the end Gus died surrounded by the one thing he truly cared about Hector and wants to make hims suffer. Tyrus was also there but we already know how little his employies truly matter to Gus. His final moment truly shows how much of a shell of a man he became in his presuit of revenge and being in the drug game as beneath the facade of a caring buisness man there was a ruthless and sadistic monster responsible for all kinds of atrocities and countless blood spilled he even walked out of the room chosing to be truly alone abanoning his work and even his revenge and showing the world his true collours. Walter died alone but even he was surrounded by the meth showing the one thing he could not let go and the one thing that truly matterd to him. With Gus since he already lost everything it shows that in reality nothing actually mattared to him.

4:52 "burning all his bridges"... that's good dude. Exactly what he did. I freaking love the way Howard handled that. Absolutely perfect. He'd had enough of covering for Chuck. Dude if you ever wanna see Michael McKean's versatility, find a clip from a show called "Laverne and Shirley". Adorable 70s comedy with Penny Marshall (Rob Reiner's ex wife). Spin-off from Happy Days. McKean played one of two brothers, idiots, named Lenny and Squiggy. So very different. He's really talented. Tho as much as i loathe Chuck, idk if I could even look at him. Fr. (I had a sibling just like him. Why I get Saul like I do. Where there should be love; there's only a desire to ruin. That's messed up.) "Next level pos" indeed!
