I got into zb1 because I saw a drama with Jiwoong in it and found out he was in the group and now I’m hooked (I love his vibe with Ricky especially)🔥🔥

Boys Planet is the survival show which created ZB1. The first clip is the final ranking where they found out who the top 9 voted for were. The one with the "2 groups' talking about Gyuvin sleeping is not ZB1 on the left and another one the right, its just some contestants for boys planet. When Hanbin did the "I love you, I want you, Seok Matthew"(which is Matthew's stage introduction), they were supposed to get him to say that without telling him, so they just said "do you have something to say to Matthew" and he did it. There were so many people because they are the contestants. Also the guy who screamed in front of Ricky isn't in ZB1, he was just a mother contestant. When Ricky said old and poor, it was recorded on april fool’s.

Boys Planet was the most wholesome damn survival show. The two people who should have been the biggest rivals (Han Bin and Hao) basically became instant soulmates, to the point where when Hao took first at the end I genuinely think Han Bin was delighted for him. Watching their relationship grow through the show is really beautiful. So much trust! Also, Han Bin pretty much refused to act like he was competing against anyone but himself the whole time, which helped to set the tone. He wasn't the only one by a long shot, but he was consistently kind. Hoe Taek (who didn't make the group in the end) was an older, nurturing figure for everyone. Ji Woong was as well. They were steady, hard-working hyungs. Basically, the older and more experienced trainees, as well as the ones who came in with the most developed skills, all modeled exemplary behavior towards each other. To their credit, I don't think mnet tried too hard to stir up conflict to drive the tension. Maybe it was a choice, maybe they just gave up in the face of lots of young men determined to be nice. But ultimately most of what you see when you watch is boys helping each other improve and excel. That's why they seem like they've known each other forever. It was a hell of a pressure cooker and they got through it together.

TMI about ZB1 family relationships: Hao & Bin are soul mates, their interactions are sweet Bin & Matthew are as close as brothers Gyuvin declared he is Yujin’s father, Yujin get used to it. Ricky, Gunwook, TaeRae are definitely straight guys. They looks funny when other members get to close. Jiwoong and bit dramatic, his mood goes ups & downs like a fake manae. Yujin the real manae, all hyung loves & protect him. Yujin is more mature than his age 16, but some clips shows he’s still a baby while he couldn’t concentrate, or playing around during shooting break. So cute. Hope this helps to understand when you watch their interactions.

If you're not familiar with kpop survival shows, just know that the premise of Boys Planet was to create a 9-member boy group from 98 Korean and non-korean trainees. The Boys Planet audience, nicknamed Star Creators, would vote on who they wanted to debut in the final group, ZB1. Only the top 9 most popular contestants got to debut. Zerobaseone is the product group of the survival show Boy's Planet. In Boy's Planet 99 contestants competed to debut in a 9 member group. The selection of the members were based of rankings and rankings were determined by fan votes and some other show based points. The top 9 members, (the 9 members with the most votes) were able to debut. So Hanbin(leader), Zhang Hao(first place/center), Ricky, Gunwwok, Matthew, Gyuvin, Jiwoong (oldest), Taerae, and Yujin (maknae) were placed in the top 9 rankings and were able to debut as ZeroBaseOne. In the video they showed clips pf mainly ZB1, but since it was from Boy's Planet there were other people who didn't debut that you didn't recognize. Also - Zhang Hao and Hanbin are a "ship" called Haobin. Some parts of the video showed some of their bromance. -Matthew and Hanbin had trained together as trainees from Cube Entertainment, but both of them left the company and went their separate ways and were reunited on Boy's Planet. -Gunwook and Jiwoong are the ones you keep calling "bad boy". Jiwoong is the oldest(1998) and Gunwook is like the second youngest (2005). Gunwook although young, has a pretty large physique and can seem older. -In Boy's Planet they were given introduction videos where Ricky came up with the iconic phrase, "Young and rich, tall and handsome." In one of the clips, the boys had to appease to the audience so that they vote for them and Ricky instead said, "Old and poor, short and ugly." And then proceeded to say he need votes to be young and rich again. It's just jokes, but this is Ricky's iconic catchphrase. -Matthew's catchphrase is, "I wantchu, I love you, Seok Matthew!"

Haobin moments are always so adorable! You should definitely react to a dedicated video of them. They became really close during the survival show and they refererred to Hao as the Chinese Hanbin and Hanbin as the Korean Zhang Hao. They both originally wanted to be teachers and I feel like that is evident from the clips I've seen of Boys Planet (I haven't watched the whole thing). They both naturally took on leadership roles and helped other contestants. They are so sweet.

I didn't watch Boys Planet while it was airing but I watched it later as a whole because I liked ZB1's album and wanted to get to know the boys more and how they ended up together. From my perspective it wasn't as bad as some make it look like, sure there was some evil editing from mnet, some people were pushed more than others, the guys had to work till they dropped, but overall it was a very nice and enjoyable watch. The biggest reason is definitely the contestants - I haven't watched any other survival shows but everyone here was so nice and supportive, the boys kept on cheering and rooting for each other, there was no intense "I MUST BE BETTER THAN HIM" but rather "I must do better than the me of yesterday". The bonds and friendships were beautiful, everyone kept helping each other, and even though the masters were strict sometimes, in the end they were there for the boys and were rooting for them as well. It's quite long and especially with the typical you-need-to-see-this-moment-from-10-different-angles it can get a little frustrating, but I'd say if you have a couple hours to spare, watch at least the performances and cute/funny moments, cs this show had a lot to offer.

You could literally take any 9 boys from top 18-20 and the final lineup would be insanely good and full of talent, and I haven't even mentioned the ones below 20 yet. I agree everyone made it seem worse than it was. I watched it when it aired and I was annoyed at the time too, but watching it again I realized it wasn’t that bad. But to be fair, when it first aired I kinda disliked Gyuvin because the way they edited some parts made me think he was kinda rude. Obviously that’s not the case and everyone supported each other, but it makes ya think who would’ve been in the group if it was filmed differently.

But def agree, like there were a few very talented guys (3 or all stars) who were given pretty much no screen time which was a shame.. i understand you can't fit absolutely everything into the show, but everyone deserved a chance to win people's hearts at least

Seen all his videos .And if then in a start of it he read his comments, now he clearly doesn't. How did I assumed it? Well zb1 came from thee survival show called boys planet there were almost 99 trainee at the time so the leader sung hanbin was an active backup dancer for bts as well he is a professional dancer and then kim jiwoong the oldest was a very famous BL actor was also an idol years ago but he wasn't ready at that time so he became an actor but now he finally is an idol then comes the two Chinese members called ricky and zhanghao and korean members kim gyuvin and han yujin all four were from the same company and audition in boys planet all were talented singers and dancers .then comes kim taerae and gunwook who also normally auditioned they are very talented dancers and singer and rapper as well and lastly Seok Matthew who is from canada he is also a singer rappers and a dancer absolutely great .also Matthew and sung hanbin are best friends from the very start before the pre debut as well and.han yujin the maknae he literally started learning dancing in ayear and came to boys planet and yes zb1 are absolutely close to eachother since they trained together in boys planet and yes ricky is actually very rich so thats why he say i am young and rich tall and handsome ricky 😂❤so yeah thats the story of zero one base .they are really precious absolutely ❤

So, Ben to put out of your misery "Boys Planet" is a survival show (like a season 2 of Girls Planet 999 * which formed Kep1er*). Where a group of 99 boys competed to debut as ZB, they were split into 2 as Group K (Korean) and Group G (International contestants like Ricky, Matthew, Zhang Hao). After eliminations and all they are ranked and with Hao being the no.1 rank.

Ben, the boys has different features to identify: Jiwoong born in 1998 height 178cm the eldest has a beautiful face line like sculpture, with Bambi eyes vs Gunwook 2005 183cm is typical man’s face line, more square, less pretty compare to other members, who has thick eye brows made him look fierce when he is serious. Zhang Hao 2000 180cm has bigger eyes, higher nose, thicker hair, thick lips dolly face vs Hanbin 2001 179cm smaller face, thick eye lash, a bit girlish features Yujin 2007 lately 177cm the real Manae, he is the most gorgeous boy, fans said he is the son of Hao & Bin Mathew 2002 height 170cm the shortest guy in group, he has a peachy chin which made his smile so sweet Gyuvin 2004 183cm has the 1:9 in body portion.
