I think another thing about Jimin's voice is that it's spiritual. People try to compare with this great vocal and that great vocal. It's a spiritual gift and I'm not a religious person. It's emotive without even trying. Then his technique. But then he dances the same way, he tells a story with his body and his vocals. This doesn't mean the other vocal line isn't great. They are too. I always say this, there are great singers in the world but Jimin's uniqueness sets him apart to travel his own path, that can't be replicated.

Because his voice is unique, ethereal, angelic and as one voice coach stated - unisex, it draws the listener to the piece of music and in wonderment of trying to find out who is this singing. This is why I think Jimin has done so well in the USA. He has both male & female fans of both his singing and his dance moves ~ the Jimin effect. I’m an elderly retired American seeing Jimin for the first time was captivating,his singing and dancing hard at the same time with his voice remaining steady and beautiful that was nearly ten years ago. when BTS was introduced to me by a family member. There is something uniquely special about how mesmerizing Jimin is when he performs, that I have never seen in any other entertainer not even Michael Jackson whom I was a huge fan of. When JK took over the lead stage performer position, the changes he made was instantly noticeable by making himself, V and J-Hope the ones in front, making sure Jimin who made the iconic performances so popular no longer be front and center. You could see that the three of them were now trying to capture the same massive popularity Jimin had. It was obvious on stage Jimin was being pushed to the back but was trying hard not to be. Watching Jimin work twice as hard not to be shut out. Made me cry because I could tell he was very tired refusing not to be disrespected. The other three are talented but no matter how hard they try, they just don’t bring the same excitement Jimin bought to the front of the stage. They all learned so much from Jimin’s teachings,JK was accused by all the members of copying from JM, he admitted he copied and stated once he was like a sponge watching what JM did and that he will always be watching him. A rare talent like JM you will never topple on stage no matter how hard you try. JM’s company tried by refusing to send his record to radio “ Like Crazy” even though it was released months before JK’s “Seven”, a radio host said JK’s song “Seven” was to be sent to radio immediately upon it’s release. But look who got the last laugh the one who go no promoting from his agency because they were promoting someone else. All JM’s promoting came from his incredible music and a fan base like no other beautiful, intelligent, open minded people that think for themselves thats who had JM’s back.

It's nothing new. It's happening for a long time. Just check their official concert clips provided by the company. You will see cameras r showing others when it's time for Jimin. They r mostly preferred to show visuals above talents. It's because of jimin's fancams people got to see the greatness of Jimin. I always felt dumbfounded knowing bang pd chose Jin and V instantly but he had doubt about Jimin during selection!! He wasn't confident of a well-trained dancer and gifted singer!! It's interesting to see Jimin got Main Dancer and Lead vocalist position with 6 months training when others trained for 2+ years. But the company always wants to downplay his talents saying he was removed from the group several times before the debut. Even members made fun of this!! Bruh when he selected as the only trainee from thousands people, he wasn't thinking about joining bts as it was already ready for debut. They took him at the last moment but now downplaying his hardwork.

There are many talented vocalists, so to be distinguishable in some way is significant. It sets you apart, and while there may be other more technically advanced singers, Jimin appeals to ppl because he has a unique vocal.
