I think calling each other to check in is an underrated and very sensible thing for couples to do in the Age of Texting (I'm nominally a millennial btw). I've lost count of the number of times a 'nothing' fight arose between me and my gf because of some silly text ambiguity like the difference between Jeremy's gentle "k" and the way it might come across to Sonia... All's fine when you hear the other person's voice

Hey Sonia and crew. Maybe another topic or two that could be for discussion, between you and Jeremy or another guest on another episode, could be about: 1) Age gap of couples and if you two faced any issues or worries from family or friends or the rest of society (given your quite public persona) 2) Family issues (if any) that helped or hindered your personal relationships, or experiences or stories of any other couples Anyway, looking forward to every episode and you guys definitely always have my like and subscribe :) Keep it up!

It's good to watch this type of casual intellectual discussion on a public platform. Like most of us agree, everyone has their own expression of thoughts, emotion and perspective. Similar like other comments, Jeremy do sounds diplomatic and tactful.... (MFA uh) but this is one example on how we show respect and protect our partner when ask about them. Even to the level of sharing their flaws, we need to exhibit the relevant points. (Guys can complaint more than ladies...). It's like a wave; there are days that we hit on the wrong stone, but we need to step on the right path back. All in all, communication is key point for any relationship.

I loved this episode! I think in my case my boyfriend is the one who talks more. I find it more difficult to express myself. When we argue, I think both of us look at body language. I am more impatient, my bf tends to be more patient with me and so he would wait for me to cool down and then we would come back to address the issue. A rule we set between ourselves is that we should never sweep our problems under the carpet. Both of us have to be brave enough to discuss the problems so we can learn from that experience and look at how we should approach it the next time.

I like the freshness that Sonia brings to the room! However, the entire basis of this show seems very rooted in this idea of gendered expectations - what do men say? How should women be? Especially in the line of questioning initially where Sonia asks what men, women do. I think there is a niche in this podcast, I just wonder if it can be done without making it seem like people should always follow stereotypes? Commented cause I love Sonia’s energy but less so how the conversations pander to stereotypes .-(

Men and women are fundamentally different. It is this natural contrast that gives rise to even topics to discuss and talk about.
@itsclarityco3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, thank you so much for leaving your feedback and comments, we appreciate them. The concept of this series was to identify these stereotypes and have an open conversation about them in hopes to bridge the two genders beyond the differences. We definitely agree that one shouldn't feel the need to conform to stereotypes and will be mindful about how it appears in future episodes! (:

The reason you asked if he was upset was cos he has a rbf and sterner demeanour than the emotionally expressive people you are used to and you are not as skilled at perceiving emotions. You are also concerned about upsetting him, nothing to do with projecting

@@itsclarityco they always tend to say, it gets cloudy when too long. And I'm fairly composed when I text, I just have to explain clearly to make sure that things are understood. Because during text/chat u can't see and feel emotion so one has to explain more properly. That's the way I see it. Otherwise we risk miscommunication on many levels. Cheers.
