This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely. We're always being told, that this or that singer is "the best in the world" - the difference is, with Dimash it's actually true! This song was my first of his too, and I was already in love before the song even ended!!😮😍

Thank you for the great reaction. Dimash is amazing - hope you will react to more of his Singer performances. Next is Opera 2 - sung in Russian, SOS was French, he also sings in English, Chinese, Kazakh (his native language) and Italian. He was 22 when this occurred, he is from Kazakhstan and was unknown to the audience and other competitors - they had no idea what to expect. Each performance is completely different. Wonderful, please carry on. It's been a year since Dimash sang this song and he has performed original songs, in huge shows now. Love, love love Dimash. When he sang Daybreak he was sick with a throat infection and had to get an injection in his throat so he could sing, he didnt want to disappoint the original composer of the song. Daybreak is a true story about a young boy and his parents who were in a cable car high up on a snowy mountain somewhere in China I think and the cable snapped and just before the cable car fell with the parents the boys mother handed him over to a woman in the next car to save him, telling him to be strong. The woman adopted him and later composed the song to commemorate the parents. Go to Gloria Wu's website for English translations for this song and others. Dimash sang this song in the Bastau concert as well and it is even better.
