JD, how is it possible that you are ALWAYS so friggin’ amazing? Your videos are always so packed with amazing ideas. Plus, your freehand lettering is beautiful. I’d LOVE to be able to do that. Keep up the amazing work! I really appreciate how you show when things do not work well, and how you work to fix them and show it all to us. My fave is always going to be the use of the stuff in the jar (lol) on a stencil. On the ones where it didn’t turn out so well, I could see using that by cutting out a die shape and putting it on a card or in a multimedia page.

I don’t make cards or scrapbooks, and though your creations are really lovely, i am not inclined to take up this craft. What I like so much about this video is your eloquence of narration. Wow! And that made me watch the entire video. There are many videos on KZbin that I never finish watching because the narrations are too wordy, with sentences such as, ‘the first thing you’re going to want to do is you want to....’. Thanks for an enjoyable video. 👍🏻

Great rundown, I didn't even know there were that many foiling methods. I never used foiling so far, though I occationally printed out my own stamps (mostly labels for mason jars). I'd usually finish them by sticking parcel tape on them before cutting them, to make them more resistant, and shiny.

However since we now have the duo transfer paste, I can use the foil and my die cutting machine/ plates to get the laminator look. J.D., this was intriguing and informative. Hi JD - I loved the entire tutorial! Thanks for giving us so many options. I don't have a lot of the products you used, but have written a list. Will go to watch the Jennifer McGuire tutorial as well, as I have the need for flowers at the moment. I thought all of your ideas were good, I even liked the one where you only used half the sheet and even though I only watched this a second ago, I need to go back and re-watch (it happens with age!!!!!) because I liked that distressed random kind of spatter look you achieved. Not over the top. All I need now, is to find my laminator, LOL LOL LOL. Thanks so much - need to save this so I can watch it over and over until it sinks in.

Hi JD. For two different effects I liked when you used the double sided sticky sheet with the die cut because you put the negative pieces back in to create a multi-colored look, and then when you used the Versamark ink pad to stamp, but DON'T use the embossing powder because that stops the stamped image being sticky, so the foil won't stick to it.

So my girlfriend was inspired by you and decided to give her own a try but each time she uses the laminator she gets a line through the foil where I suppose the foil didn't stick and we're trying to solve the problem by adding foil over the lines and running it through again but no luck unfortunately so we were wondering if you've had the same problem and or if you have any solution or advice
@WestCoastCanuck5 жыл бұрын
Lines in foil (like the ones in the video with the green foil/laminator combo) are often from wrinkles in the foil or scratches on the back of the foil itself. Keep the foil as smooth as possible before you apply the heat and pressure.

@ItsMeJD6 жыл бұрын
Warm soap and water. It might remain a little tacky, but in my experience, that's never affected the performance. It actually helps the stencil to stick better to other surfaces without leaving any residue.

Hi JD, This is my 3rd time watching this video in a year. Love how easy you are to follow in these tutorials. You’re very clear and slow enough to understand completely. I just bought a very in expensive laser printer but do not know how to hook it up. I have a regular ink jet and don’t understand how to add another printer to my tablet. Anywho, can’t wait to make some spectacular designs and cards once it’s a go. My favorite technique is die cuts and sticky sheets so far. Thank you for all of your hard work and energy that goes into doing this for all of us out here in U Tube land. Your one of the very best out there my dear. Truly adore your style and your personality. You keep it real. Tfs Luv n Hugs!

on a tablet it depends which operating system you are running (android, apple etc) and may vary by brand. Generally there should be a section along the lines of printers and devices which you should be able to search for it it. cheaper printers might need a cable to connect though rather than wifi.

I have always loved the laser printer and laminator method even back in the day when there were no color printers, just black and white laster printers. I used to use a product called ibifoil back then. But I have always wanted to try other ways to add foil. I like the stencil with the embossing powders and the laminator affect as well as using glue and letting it dry then burnishing on the foil. I also just purchased the Gemini Foil Machine which I am going to try and I have the Todo Machine that I have tried using but it is so big and heavy with such a tiny laminating area. I am still going to use it though because I love what it does with any dies I have but the Gemini machine is my all time favorite. Thank you for your video. Cool.
