The moment when the mom broke down because she’s told that Lottie is happy. She’s so relieved that this little dog has a good life. She’s provided her with a better life than she would have ever had before. I started to cry as well. This is why rescue dogs are the best. This little creature has a new chance in life. They’re giving you love and companionship and you’re giving them care and compassion. It just made me think of my little beagle that we rescued. We agreed to take her off the hands of our neighbor. He was going to just let her go out in a rural area. And now she’s the sweetest most loving couch potato.

I haven't yet heard Victoria ranting about puppy mills, it would be about time. But maybe the fear legal consequences ? backlash from the industry in general. Unlike the odd backyard breeder (which are bad enough), those businesses have money, lawyers, maybe they even advertise in the U.S. In which case the media networks would not allow any critique on their paying clients.
@assassinwoman164 жыл бұрын
@@xyzsame4081 That's sadly very true.. But I'm sure if Victoria spoke out against it, like really really spoke out against it, people would back her in a heart beat. After watching so many episodes you notice some patterns with this families. Women tent to give excuses to small dogs bad behavior and men tent to excuse big dogs bad behavior. Is not a rule, but you can easily see this happening in many episodes.
@jackimoon82845 жыл бұрын
marilucs agreed👌 and empty nesters are a reoccurring motif as well lol
@TheGoldenDunsparce5 жыл бұрын
The cute small dogs are often seen as babies, whereas the bigger dogs tend to be a reflection of the man; this is why women can't bare scolding their "baby" and the men often refuse to have their "other half's" balls removed. This isn't the case for every dog, of course. In this case, though, their dog is a medium-sized dog. Lotty is pitied by the wife whereas the husband doesn't pity her and just sees her as someone who wears everyone out and ruins his garden. The most important thing is that BOTH people need to have a relationship with the dog and not have one person view it as an extension as them self.
@FeatherWings785 жыл бұрын

Also depends on which one gets the dog which is usually the same thing. Men don’t like small dogs because their girly and energetic and stuff, and women don’t like big dogs because they are scary and hard to deal with. When really both problems can be solved with training.

OMG You're spot on! The young man Jason did change literally like night and day! When I watch these episodes of Victoria Stilwell I can't help but think how smart dogs truly are and just how fast they can learn, once people start teaching them and spending time with them! And of course to achieve meaningful and lasting change in the dogs behavior the dog owner must first change their behavior and their attitude and it's very sweet and special to get to witness it all taking place!💟🐾🐾💟
@jordanphilipperris5 ай бұрын
Well, he never asked for the dog in the first place, and when all these changes were happening, he was changing as well. I felt bad for Jason and did not blame him for not wanting to put in the work since nothing they knew worked and again he did not want the dog to start with and there were pretty much nothing but problems. Most people are willing to put in all kinds of work if they are given advice that will actually work and is presented to them in the right ways.

Victoria! I have watched your show for years. You inspired me to work in a kennel when I was able to work, and because of that I found my best friend, my Siberian husky bloo. He was extremely skinny from running and not stopping, he had a terrible trash problem, and i couldn't even trust him off the leash in the yard so for two years he had been on a tether leash. Recently I've built up my trust in him and with him because of you and he finally comes back to my whistle without running off too far and he no longer jumps our fence. Thank you for improving our huskies life and for giving him freedoms I never thought would be possible. You are gold!

Both, the dog and the owners are lovely! Lottie is such a beauty. But I highly doubt that she became completely unproblematic for ever after. But the change after just a few weeks of training is very impressive! Giving a dog it's very own sandpit is a great idea.

I am astonished that she did not throw all the sand outside while eagerly digging into it.

When you adopt a dog you always have to be prepared to face problems that can't be completely solved and adapt, even more with a rescue. For example most hunting races can't be let free in the forest because they can't help but hunt, so eather you keep it in leash or buy GPS collar, or don't go to the forest...
@achanih14682 жыл бұрын
I used to have a sandpit for my pups but the neighborhood cats used it as a potty place so I have to get rid of it. Agility courses really helped with my dogs and it made them much more relaxed when I have to leave them alone at home.

He did not really ask for the dog in the beginning and with all the problems and not knowing what to do it all just, um, spiraling out of control I get why he acted the way he did. His wife was frustrated about her putting in basically all the work, but she was the one who really cared about the dog from the get go.
