Actually, this family is just plain cruel, period!... Their dog is in distress and they are worried about material stuff?!… Even at the end, the dog was getting better and he was still separated from the family!... I just don't get why people get pets if it's to isolate them, specially dogs who are so social!... I am more of a cat person… I have rescued cats with all sorts of problems (fearful, hissing, growling, hiding, ignoring treats and play invitations, etc.)… One major problem with unsocialized, abused, mistreated cats is piing and pooping outside the litter box as a stress relief, and I have never isolated them more than a few days to get them acclimated to their new environment… They have total free range of my house… I simply strategically put more litter boxes of all shapes or even pee pads for the declawed ones that suffer...
@vicmorgana55165 жыл бұрын
@@egagnon9994 I don't believe this family was cruel, they just didn't realize the dog was under so much stress. People who don't do research or don't have experience with dogs don't know the signs, and then the dog suffers. Besides, they have every right to worry about the walls and stuff. Repairing damage like that is expensive as hell.

Of coarse we haven't seen the full episode but other then the stress Rocky is actually pretty well adjusted. No reactivity, or fear or aggression. I think his genetics have a good chunk to play in his stress, and of coarse not getting an energy release compounded it, which then made walks extremely difficult so she didn't take him out. So it became a cycle. I don't think at least with the spinning they were just expecting him to behave with out training. Spinning like that is not the average/stereotypical dog problem. And especially if you aren't super familiar with dog training you may not really now how to fix it. And they did give Rocky training, its just that it was with Victoria.

There were certainly a lot of factors involved here but that Insane spinning was Horrendous, that poor dog! I wonder if they actually addressed the spinning directly or just worked on his anxiety and nervous energy and confidence. It's amazing what stuff that looks peripheral, like agility or nosework for confidence, can do for these problem behaviors. While he was indeed seriously anxious, I would not have put him on the extreme end of how anxious a dog can be like V said ("One of the most anxious dogs I have ever..."). The most anxious dogs require medication to make any progress. Rocky may have benefited from anxiety meds while he was doing the training, but he could learn without them. A more anxious dog would not have ever come out from under the chairs. Lots of those out there.

She would just spin, and spin, and spin. She ruined the front room having anxiety poops. It was really sad to watch. I began training her. She still spins a little when she is excited or when the cat spooks her but that is it. You just have to get a doggy like that exercise and gentle love. She was never a mean dog. I'm assuming a large chunk of people who watch these videos are moderately familiar with various training solutions and basic training, as we watch these because that's what were interested in and what we learn from these videos. They owners probably do not. Besides at the end of the day judging doesn't help the dog, their getting help from Victoria and helping teach the dog in what ever needs be is the most important. It’s a household responsibility to care for an animal because it is a family member. Your sister was in the wrong for not consulting with the family, but it isn’t the dogs fault that she did that. You know? That dog needs care and love from all members. There is a similar episode about a guy who refused to feed and care for an adopted dog because (in his mind) it was his girlfriend who got the dog without his permission so it wasn’t his responsibility. This guy “calculated” his responsibility and actually said he does his percentage of the work. You should check out the video! He does come around and it ends quite nicely :)

It's supposed to be everyone's responsibility but it definitely is not the case in many households. I live with my parents and they love my puppy but If I'm not the one walking him, he won't get walked. If I absolutely can't do it for some reason, I'll ask a friend for their help. My parents will feed my puppy if I'm busy (or even when I'm not busy), they will play with him, pet him and all that fun stuff but they won't join our training classes or take Teddy to his vet checks. That's just the division of labor in our house.

The changing direction for pulling did not work with my golden retriever. She’s very smart, but also very willful. We ended up going back and forth 3 steps each direction for like... an hour a day for a week, still didn’t work. Lol! After failing at techniques from shows like this, I got her into obedience training so a trainer could help me in person. That did the trick. That was when she was 4 months old. She’ll be 4 years old in a few days and we haven’t had any problems walking on a leash since our first 6 weeks of puppy obedience school.

My impression is that most of Rocky's unwanted behavior was because he was not getting enough positive attention, petting, hugs, kind words.

It is so triggering for me to see how the boyfriend was just on his phone the whole time when they first started the training... i mean, seriously it's your dog, get more reaponsible pleasee..... (At least, we can see him get to the training later on and becoming a bit more responsable...)

Why is it that US dogs so rarely get walked?

Large Backyards is the closest answer I can give you. Another answer is, and I only know this from my best friend who moved from germany to the usa... there are barely any sidewalks in some areas and she would have to walk the dog on the street

I think you might be mistaken if you are getting your information by watching KZbin videos. Don't judge the whole country by what you see in a few households on Staten Island.

Yeah I don’t think a few KZbin videos on a series that’s literally about crappy dog owners is an accurate reflection of the whole country.

I have a wheaten terrier and they are very active and playful. It’s no wonder he is having behaviour problems if he’s having no or extremely short walks and no positive interactions 🤦♀️ What on earth are they expecting. That poor dog deserves better

I walk my cat, so I can’t understand people who get animals and expect them to just sit in the house all day. The animal has to have a life. They are not ornaments.

This is the same dog and family in a video dated for January 2020 who was doing so well with being walked and training exercises. How it got to him biting multiple people one requiring plastic surgery is scary.

My dog used to do something similar when she was a pup,,,she run BacK and ForTh and BacK and FoRth all around the house and often bump on walls,,, ,,, now she doesn't do that anymore she does the contrary,,, she stand and bark at the door,,, i honnestly dont know how to stop that barking habit but so far I thought her to stay back when someone is at the door,,, thought she still barks very loudly,, I dont really know what to do,,
