Mara I don’t give a crap if you have a nice garden, if you don’t want your garden messed up then don’t get dogs. Simple as that. I have to wash my sofa covers regularly because of my dog, I gotta clean my carpet and my kitchen floor regularly but do I care? Nope! Because I care about my dog and I’m not materialistic. You can’t be materialistic when you have animals and if you are then don’t bother having them. Simple as that.

Pink Unicorn they are not saying that they understand why they wont let their dogs out cause itll wreck the garden, they are saying that its not a excuse to not let the dogs out cause of that. Reread the comment before you start aggressively replying to the comment.. also, its not good that you need to clean your carpets and couches.. thats not good at all and you should train them not to make it dirty, like if its muddy outside, dont let them walk around for long until you clean their paws

@@BeyondEcho95 True, and it's harder if they haven't been taught to do it when they were puppies. When I had dogs (one I got when I was 13, the other one is my ex's) I kept them off leash as much as I could when they were pups - only in places it was safe of course. They got used to following me and never ran off from me, accept if they saw a hare etc. I noticed the first one started to be a bit too solo on our walks in a trail, so I hid in the forest near the trail as she had gone somewhere. Soon she appeared on the trail where I had just been and looked for me frantically. After that she was more careful with how far she went from me. This might not works as well with adult dogs, or with a breed that is particularly independent, but my semi-independent pup did learn her lesson.

As a Greyhound owner, I was actually shocked by this and I've watched a lot of Victoria's videos. Looked like a completely different breed. Just goes to show the root of 99.9% of behaviour problems are squarely the fault of the owners. It's reprehensible to not recognize your own shortcomings at the cost of your dog's wellbeing. Very happy to see they were willing to come around. Now they get to enjoy the hands-down best bit about owning a Greyhound - watching them run for fun! (and witnessing other people's reactions to it)

Un real........... We had a street Lurcher puppy stray.....never lived indoors.. Within two weeks she was completely housetrained {and only one poo indoors, the first night}...it takes an effort to train any dog... Setting an alarm throughout the night to take her into the garden for a wee. using a 'trigger word'..so she knew outdoors was for elimination. Exercise...they need lots {or Lurchers do}...they definitely need recall training and freedom to gallop. Getting two puppies at the same time is daft. Always an owner problem.

My first dog was a retired racing greyhound. I NEVER saw her aggressive. One time she growled at my Nana's dog through the glass door to the backyard, but he was a little Bichon Frise, so we think he just looked a little too much like a rabbit or the lure used in the arenas. Because Dru didn't have any problems with him after that.

Crates ..never used them, and have never had an issue house training a dog..nor have my friends.. And we have had rescue dogs too... Often it is the ''owner'' at fault, they don't get the dog into a routine, go outside into the garden WITH a dog while training, or use trigger words or praise. We had a pup who had been ''paper trained'' by his original owner..and that was NOT ideal, as he pooed on a map I had spread on the floor... that did make me laugh though... He looked so pleased! HOWEVER.....taking on a dog who had lived in a chaotic home, rather than a ''street'' dog is possibly harder, as the dog will have learned that it is ''ok'' to poo and pee in the house. Sadly crates can be abused by too many people. :(

Mine never wanted to go on long walks (only in the forest bc of all the sniffs), 30 minutes twice a day and he was so done he just slept for hours on end... They are very easily trainable with positive reinforcement and still the best large dog for walking beautifully on a leash, he learned not to pull in a day and I am not a professional trainer...He always walked in my tempo at my side. My dog was abused, so I found positive reinforcement builds trust, and trust allowed her to enjoy the exercise (she was skiddish and would cling to my leg and want to be sheltered), the food (she fought for each meal), piddles (she ate her poo thinking she did a bad), etc. Just adding that trust allows exercise and training to work.

That kitchen needed to be gutted! The waste is probably on the ceiling and under the floor 🤢. Training of course is the obvious answer, but since they didn’t bother before, they should have at least put those wee wee pads all of the kitchen (I know that’s bad too, but at least to protect some of that kitchen). 🤮

What disturbs me is that every greyhound breeder/trainer knows that the pups are absolute hooligans and quite unlike the laid-back gentle souls they are as adults. Who on earth thought it a good idea to hand a pair of greyhound puppies over to a couple who are obviously not at all dog-savvy? Puppies are hard work. Two puppies are doubly hard, especially littermates. Two greyhound puppies ... well, they're not called 'land sharks' for nothing. They're always on the go, always looking for food or trouble or both, they're very strong, muscular dogs, and they need an experienced hand - or at least a fairly competent novice who's willing to learn & put the work in. I'm so glad they got some help with these two lovely sisters. (Yes, I'm an experienced greyhound owner. No, I don't want a greyhound puppy! :D)

good thing they started off with dogs. this woman would have been one clingy and controlling helicopter mom. especially since she apparently would have had little support from her partner(could he have been any more complacent and petulant?), which would have only made it worse. I hope she learns from this, so she doesn't transfer all that anxiety on her children if she ever has any. but victoria sorted them out and they put in a lot of work, so I hope they truly are much happier :)

Everyone defending the guy in responses, remember he's a full grown man. A person being criticised for not being good enough then just not responding and acting like a petulant child is extremely toxic in the long run. He would need to put his foot down and seek ways to improve and shut down the partner when she herself is not doing things properly. It's called a collaboration, you can't just lay back and complain that your partner is being mean.

My mom got herself a rescue greyhound several years ago. These are large animals that NEED space to run around and play in. They have a ton of pent up energy, more so than many other breeds. The couple's fear that the dog could get loose is very real. If a Grey gets off the leash, you will be very hard pressed to catch it unless it chooses to come to you, even in a car. We had something happen like this. Also, a Greyhound could jump a fence like that. You'd be surprised. That said, we have a local group that gets Greys together and lets them run free and play with one another, off the leash. They zip around for a couple hours, and you're good for weeks. You still need to walk them quite frequently when they're young like this.

I did it with very few, minor problems. You have to bond with them individually and do one-on-one training and activities and get them comfortable not being together 24/7. Letting them do everything together and not establishing a relationship with them individually can become problematic as then they become closer with each other than their humans. Having littermates is definitely doable. It especially helps if you TRAIN them, which is not what these people did.
