Peter Gabriel

Күн бұрын

The official In Your Eyes video.
Taken from the multi-platinum selling album So, the first of Peter’s studio albums to have a proper title and a watershed release in his career. Its marriage of the artistic and the commercial made for an indisputable success, with the album quickly sitting atop the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Love I get so lost, sometimes Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart When I want to run away I drive off in my car But whichever way I go I come back to the place you are All my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light the heat In your eyes I am complete In your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches In your eyes The resolution of all the fruitless searches In your eyes I see the light and the heat In your eyes Oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light The heat I see in your eyes Love, I don't like to see so much pain So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away I get so tired of working so hard for our survival I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive And all my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light the heat In your eyes I am complete In your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches In your eyes The resolution of all the fruitless searches In your eyes I see the light and the heat In your eyes Oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light, The heat I see in your eyes In your eyes, in your eyes In your eyes, in your eyes In your eyes, in your eyes

Lost my wife to cancer in less than three months. This song means so much to me. 'In her eyes, the light, the heat, in her eyes, in her eyes, I felt complete, in her eyes'. Thank you for making me cry and also feel better. She was my world, and our 2 daughters world, gone too soon at 42 from cancer. Thank you Peter Gabriel and my heart goes out to all living beings. 🙏💔💞😭

Thank you for your likes/loves. My pain and that of my family's is no less than anyone's and reading the incredible comments from others about what this song means to them too made my heart sing and my heart and love goes out to you all. I'm blown away that my comment was highlighted and I've no idea if this is actually Peter Gabriel's official page, nor do I care. The honour and respect goes to him for making such beautiful music. I don't think I should admit this, but my late wife and I would make love to the album 'Passion' a lot over our amazing almost 17 years together. In your eyes, the light the heat, your eyes.... My wedding song, but I swear it was playing in my head the first time I met my love, "The light the heat ... I am complete." It really was love at first conversation. So cheesy, but true. I just knew. And a lot of people thought we wouldn't make it because he was six years younger. Here we are, though, almost 25 years later, still going strong, two boys, two dogs, military life. Keep on fighting the good fight. He's always been the one. There was never a question.

And neither did I. Even at the age of 35. We could be going to work together, on the subway. He'd get off on his stop and I would give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek and tell him, te quiero un chingo pa. I know that would make him proud. Te amo padre ! 1987. My boyfriend and I were lying in his bed (fully clothed , sickos!) and this song came on. He looked lovingly into my eyes and sang it to me. I’ve never felt so loved in my life and I remember this moment years and years later. He never knew how much it affected me.

@@shellyfagan5794 I remember Phil Collins in an interview. The interviewer said, wow your songs are so deep so meaningful, where does that come from? His reply was no where I just write they don't mean any thing. I personally thought that was a fabulous answer. Singers writers etc aren't spiritual masters, sure they are creative but we all are. The power to give birth is more of a spiritual connection to the universe than writing or singing a song.

The Lyrics... Love I get so lost, sometimes Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart When I want to run away I drive off in my car But whichever way I go I come back to the place you are All my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light the heat In your eyes I am complete In your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches In your eyes The resolution of all the fruitless searches In your eyes I see the light and the heat In your eyes Oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light The heat I see in your eyes Love, I don't like to see so much pain So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away I get so tired of working so hard for our survival I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive And all my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light the heat In your eyes I am complete In your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches In your eyes The resolution of all the fruitless searches In your eyes I see the light and the heat In your eyes Oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light, The heat I see in your eyes In your eyes in your eyes In your eyes in your eyes In your eyes in your eyes
