1993. I was 25 years old. 4 friends, musicians and music lovers. We leave for the ASSAGO FORUM (MILAN). Let's go in, crazy stage for the time. Lights, phone booth, Come Talk To Me start. Everything is perfect. A live performance that "sounds" like a record heard on an esoteric system... At this point we enter in a party. A celebration of music. 30 years have passed, it still remains the most beautiful concert seen live in my entire life (over 250 concerts of all kinds seen...) After 30 years hearing Paula Cole's crazy voice again and remembering her from under the stage, with her dress, Doc Martens boots and an enthusiastic face... An emotion that will accompany me forever. Thank you Peter. An evening engraved in the soul.

This song says everything that made me fall in love with my wife of 39 years. I remember meeting her the 1st time and not thinking much about her until I looked in her eyes, I knew then that she was the greatest woman I would ever meet. We married 5 months later and never split up, raised our children and started living our lives again after the kids were grown and gone. Sadly it didn't last as she passed from Cancer a short time later but whenever I'm missing her I play this song and I feel her presence with me and remember her eyes and the way she looked at me, still in love with you my sweet, forever yours, me.

I read all of your messages and you are assured that they lifted me as they surely lifted others. None of us are islands. We need each other. In 1985 I came to Houston Tx to study for Nursing school with my college sweetheart who was a physics major and professional student in Optometry school at the University of Houston. We married in 1987. This brings me back to the good memories of of his influence in my life and how he motivated me to study hard to reach my goals. We were best friends. Unfortunately, the marriage ended abruptly in 1988 during my finals week before my December 1988 graduation from Nursing school. He stayed behind in Houston and had to finish his last semester of his 4th year. It was over before it started. We went separate ways. I pray for his health and well being. I bought a dvd of this recently, needing a nostalgia trip during a miserable lockdown. I am too young(at 53!)to remember Peter Gabriel in Genesis, but became a huge fan in the 80's and 90's. When I got to her place to pick her up, she was listening to this same song after just taking a shower. The album had been out for several years already, so it wasn't that it just came out. Sometimes I think she thinks I just say that to make HER feel good, but it's true. I was the lucky one though, we've been married for twenty-one years this last May. I'm a lucky dog. It is a very rare thing when an artist does a song so well and the engineering of the studio production is so great that it turns out perfect. Peter Gabriel did it twice on one album. Red Rain and In Your Eyes were those two perfect songs. Things have gotten courser for sure. In the Big Picture, it has to do with an acceleration of Light bringing up it's opposite (hatred) to the surface for examination and processing. The world isn't going to hell in a handbasket. It's experiencing growing pains and expressing so much repressed and denied bullshit. We will get to the other side of this in time. It will be like an outbreak of common sense. Many on this planet will have to die off and take their darkness with them...only to be replaced with a younger generation with a much higher Light Quotient.

There are truly world class drummers and then there are the very few who can incorporate the elements of world music and our American pop sensibilities into their drum voicings and phrasing that include us all and touch us deep down and for me Manu Kache' is at the top of this group... Mostly in the way he just sometimes releases his limbs and let's the music's energy carry him to whatever drum of cymbal that fits the music... But the greatest beauty of his drumming is about the where he leaves space and doesn't overplay....

I was at this concert back in the day in Phoenix, AZ. Never found it online until this morning... It was a total total amazing experience. Really the only true concert I have ever been to in 51 years of my life...makes me bawl so hard. this song, this Artist and many many others bring me to tears....happy tears... Ciao... have a call to make...becoming me true self again reinventing my former name after 18 years of my so called life...

I was at this concert in Philadelphia in 1993. Greatest concert ever! I’m also 51. So much time has passed but this is still the greatest song ever written!

I too was at this concert in Phoenix. I had been to many concerts up to this point in my life including Pink Floyd Animals in 1977 (16 years old and my first concert). This show was the best I have ever seen. Fan for life 🎤

Seriously, there needs to be a Love button for songs like this. It is a classic. And Paula Cole’s voice still sends chills up my spine d3cades later.

@@maryduffy2381 Paula Cole Sounds great but as great as she sounds she cannot hold a candle to Savara Narkasan. Check it out, kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHyai2tpiseqga8, She is an Uzbek and can hold a note like I have NEVER heard

Is Paula Cole the lady who is singing next to Peter in the black dress and then dancing with the African guy? She's got an amazing voice.

Really? THAT'S Paula Cole?

An audience without any form of social media and mobile phones completely in sync with the performance...........the way it should be. Timeless piece of music ❤.........one of the best concerts ever

This guy is an unacknowledged musical genius. I love the way he manages to include so many ethnic musical traditions in his work.

If you never have been to one of peter Gabriel concerts you missed out being entertained. You leave the concert refreshed! And it is thought provoking! I was blown away!
