So I like the list. It's pretty accurate. Eldar being one of my two mains, I can't disagree with the Aspect Warriors desperately needing an update. Kitbashing your own will only take you so far (though I am very proud of my DIY Fire Dragons, if I do say so myself). I don't see the need for vehicle remakes, as much as I just wish they provided more kit options for them, at least where the Eldar are concerned. The Falcon being from '97 isn't as much of a problem as it's lack of properly representing weapon options, though I'll admit that I do very much like the visual re-do of the Fireprism - so maybe I can be brought on board for it.

I wish Games workshop offered "oldhammer" models and latest models. Rhinos are pretty much dead in 40k, but yet its such a iconic model that everyone knows of. Like surely at this point it doesnt cost much for GW to make, seeing all the models and molds are still there. Tamiya does this they even do updated older models with photo etching and updated parts etc.

Even though Tau Auxiliary models are a great opportunity to kitbash your own squads from other faction kits, I'd buy a Tau codex in a heartbeat if they actually published rules for gue'vasa units

Thankfully the problem really only comes into play if you're doing tournament play. If you're playing with friends, it's easy enough to agree that taking imperial Guard units and adding them to a list would be able to function for them. Or, if you have extra weapons available from Tau kits (like the carbines for the breacher squads or rifles for the fire warriors) you could homebrew an imperial guard unit with Tau weaponry.

Just a note: Daemonhunters codex did not feature Crusaders (Witch Hunters did) and Witch Hunters was a seperate Inquisition faction which featured Sisters of Battle as their primary support army instead of Grey Knights. The 3rd edition Daemonhunters codex was released shortly before 4th edition and was still compatible and legal with 4th edition. @getjinxed7354 Yes, the inquisition units added in witchhunters could be used with Daemonhunters, so long as you had at least one HQ choice be an inquisitor. So you couldn't have a grey knight army with sisters units, but you could have a mostly grey knight army with witchhunter inquisition units

About orks... As cool as the new boyz are, I just don't care TOO much for monopose models... Yes they are GORGEOUS to look at, but by GW removing multipose models as a whole the models start seeming a bit samey if you have enough... And I imagine it would be especially noticable with horde factions like orks and nids. (Perhaps I am incorrect, but that is just a personal reason that I would wish for GW to make multi-part kits like they used to, and why my old multi-part orks are my favorite!(Plus, cant go wrong with such affordable orks too, even if the sculpt IS showing its age...))

we eldar have really been left behind. i started playing last year and thankfully my favourite aspect warriors look pretty good and have a plastic kit, along with their phoenix lord (howling banshees & jain zar) i just got 5 warp spiders and the difference between them and the rest of my army makes them feel like they don't fit in at all

Curious what you came up with as I thought much the same - in fact Ashes of Faith is basically designed with the idea of bringing in other imperial forces as part of your retinue. I thought it'd be cool to have "Ordo" detachments that allow you to bring a percentage of aligned specialist forces in - so for the main ones Ordo Hereticus could include Adepta Sororitas, the Ordo Xenos could include Deathwatch, and Ordo Malleus could bring in Grey Knights.

I thought the same, the base idea was have around 500 pts of allies at a 2k army from any imperial force, but depending on your Ordo, you could pick 250 points more of Sob, Deathwatch or GK, for example, with, of course, stratagems, rules and enhancements based and focused completely on the predilect enemy (3 classic plus Minoris)

For the record, Alien hunters did get a codex eventually. The thing is, the whole concept of the inquisitorial army changed over the years. Inquisitors now join whatever army they want and the two existing 'hunters' have become separate armies with their proper official names. Daemon hunters into Grey Knights. Witch hunters into Adepta Sororitas. And Alien hunters followed suit as the Deathwatch.

The 2nd edition Eldar codex was where I got into the hobby, and I've been wanting Exodites for decades. Knowing that they never created a warp spider exarch, any models from the Exodites, or fleshed out the Ynnari, makes me glad that I left the GW sphere of the hobby years ago.

To pick up on a very minute point in the entire video. I’d much prefer if they’d make an entirely new rhino/predator/vindicator for chaos. One that can have entire exhaust stacks swapped to make them look like something with scavenged repairs or entire sections swapped to be more warp touched for example. The entire rhino chassis also needs to have its scale crept up to match the creep seen by infantry squads. An upgrade kit for the Deimos variants would just lead to a laughably small tank with superficial upgrades being placed next to fairly chunky chaos legionaries/plague marines/khorne berzerkers. I say this as someone that has converted a Deimos rhino and is currently wrestling with converting an old chaos predator to be more Death Guardy.

Witch Hunters wasn't a 4th edition codex, it released the same year as Daemonhunters. Alien Hunters *did* release, as Deathwatch. Just like Witch Hunters specialized to be the Sisters of Battle codex, and Daemonhunters specialized to become the Grey Knights, the Deathwatch is the militant part of the Ordos Xenos, and you can consider their codex to be the update to the Alien Hunters codex (which was cancelled because they didn't know how to make such small kill teams work at 40k's scale. Then they just said "screw it" and did it despite the issues.) Also, you can't say something came out in the early thousands, 1000 was a year that happened, and that's not when the IG tanks came out, no matter how old you feel they look.

As a certified Grey Knights battle brother, I hope GW never touch my 5'11" short kings I much vastly prefer the balljointed waists, unified poses, and modular designs of my silver sons than the very dynamic, but very specific poses of the Primaris Space Marines Yeah, the new Primaris ones look cooler, but that novelty wears off when you spot four guys with the exact same running technique across the battlefield It's even worse with the Chaos Space Marines, where each pair of legs also only matches a specific chestplate, so all the guys doing the cool dynamic leap over a small rock all have the same armour, the same spiky shinguards, the same chestplate, and the same loincloth, but with different heads and shoulders glued on Yes, all the current Grey Knights have the same leg pose, but the pose is generic enough that you can easily smash 20+ marines together on the tabletop and it doesn't look wierd

I got a Grey Knights Combat Patrol, and after assembling a 5 knight strike squad, I was so disappointed by how scrawny they looked compared to primaris marines. Ended up selling the Combat Patrol on eBay rather than build the rest. They really should update the models.

Some Skaven units such as Warlock Engineer, Gutter/Night Runners, Ratling Gun, Warpfire Thrower, Plague Censer Bearers, Warplock Jezzails, Warp-Grinder, Skryre Acolyte, Plague Priest, Master Moulder. Nurgle unit such as Festus and Epidemius. Centigors, Doombull, Razorgors, and Tuskgor Chariot for the Beasts of Chaos. Those are the only AoS models that I could think of.

To be fair Inquisitorial Agents have had a ton of love recently, and while I suspect this video was made before the announcement the Agents Kill Team has a full release now. But we also had the Elucidian Starstriders w. Voidsmen, Adeptus Arbites, Breachers, and a whole index for Imperial Agents in the new edition. Oh and a new Inquisitor model in the form of Erasmus Cartavolnus, although he doesn't have specific rules for 10th so admittedly GW seem to have forgotten in record time that he exists. And admittedly putting Hector Rex in legends was a dick move.

I have left and come back to the hobby twice now. I have loved the Eldar all along. It has been really disappointing that the models I got way back at the start of things when I was 11 or so are still the most up to date. It is crazy they have not done something now. 13:05 screw the top 3 popular chapters the Iron hands aesthetic has been bastardized the hardest, they’re not like ravenguard or Vulkan’s Boy Scouts where they are an army where you can work with your ranges and pick out the generic options that work with your gimmick. Iron Hands have only 3 gimmicks: Cybernetics, Heavy Weapons, and Warmachines. And guess what 2 out of those 3 are only available in ultramarine generic kits an black is a VERY common color in 40k; And don’t even make me laugh at the cybernetics part most you’re getting these days is a cybernetic forearm, an eye or half a face THATS IT. 90% of my Eldar, Sisters, and Clowns are mostly 3rd party. I run lotsmofmfemale models, and I can't get that with GW. It's the main reason I think most armies aren't more popular. They focus on marines to make them popular, and they are, so they only make marines. Lore wise this socks. It's just marine on marine violence.

You've seen the rumors that Warhammer Age of Sigmar 4th Edition and "old world" will be coming next summer, SIMULTANEOUSLY! If this is true, then the Games Workshop is really bad in the head. Do you remember how GW shot in the foot of Age of Sigmar in the past? A lot of people didn't buy Dominion because the Horus Heresy photo of the box was leaked and everyone thought it was coming soon. Our range refresh is holding up really well, possibly because of the multi-pose nature and the cross-kit kitbash potential (nearly all the arms and legs use the same size sockets or flat surfaces). But Grotesques suffer from single pose while Beasts and Court are just... gone. Rotated out.

I can see a lot of these models being introduced slowly through kill team, especially the aspect warriors. Another rumor for the box after that is swooping hawks and vespid. Not sure if it'll end up being true but I would love to see it.

Have you noticed how, with the "Combat Patrol" boxes, you pay more now, but get less. In the past, GW used to make excellent "armies in a box", like the Eldar or Custodes "armies in a box", which contained about 1000 points worth of models, but then GW abandoned them, released these Combat Patrol boxes, which were about half the size of the previous supplements, but doubled the cost in the process. I don't think that I have seen a single "Combat Patrol" box, which is actually worth the price tag. I don't think that GW care about what the customers are asking for anymore. I think that it is 100% all about the money, and how much they can con out of you, while providing as little as possible in return.

My Warp Spiders are all metal, bought in blister packs way back in 1996 when I first got into 40k. They still look good, but that may be due to my painting skills. There are 3rd party WS sculpts out there that look really good, worthy of adding to an Eldar army. I won't, because, you know, my whole army is so old the alternate sculpts would stick out like a sore thumb.

Wow, great job everyone! Firstly, anything in Citadel finecast needs a plastic kit, Finecast is terrible. Orks: I detest how every old Ork model's legs make them look like they're about to poop. There are alternative legs that can be found from some sites that fix this issue. Tau: What would be nice is if we got a Tau armor upgrade kit that we could apply to different models. Adding some pieces of Tau armor and weapons to some guardsman or AOS Saurus warriors, etc I think would be awesome.

Its so annoying every time Marine or Tyranids, the biggest ranges, get yet another kit. Its been 30 years update the Eldar range. The fact they added the stupid dwarves before fixing core factions is a joke. And give us Noise Marines! Emperors Children were so popular last edition there's clearly a market! Just make a box of 10 and print money.

I see no problem with the Eldar and Tau grav tanks. They have a look, the look is pretty good. The chimera and russ likewise work, in universe in the lore. And they do not need to be bigger. Bigger is just stupid. The Dorn is newer and flashier(and bigger, but it at least IS a heavy tank,) but that's probably just Belisarius Cawl swinging his... tech heresy. Yes everything could do with retooling, if they are not changing the design overly much, but I'd not trust GW to do that and I'd not trust GW to modernise the eldar and tau tanks. They managed to screw up the Kasrkin, when all they had to do was make them the same size as the cadian shock troops they were developing at exactly the same time, and the same height as literally every imperial guard soldier they have ever made. But apparently that was too hard.

I'd like to see more then two Guard regiments. i'd love Elysians or Harakoni....or as a deep cut: Vitrians. Edit: though i guess Harakoni can be done with Cadians and grav chutes i always figured they had slightly different armor then Cadian gear.

The worst recent tease was the new Autarch; he/she comes with a crisp, highly detailed Warp Spider Jump Pack. Then one of the recent lore books had the audacity to tease a potential Warp Spider Phoenix Lord. On an aside, they should also just go ahead and make plastic Shadow Spectres. Derpy lore aside, they're honestly my favorite Aspects design-wise.

Drukhari got forgotten again... Half the dark eldar range is still in resin and instead of updating these models GW is slowly just getting rid of them. The DE range is shrinking and there are no replacements in sight. It's really sad. Also, 10e literally stripped every unique weapon and feature of the DE so they're utterly boring now. I'm a little mad with GW atm. There's no Vect model, in fact, there's no named archon model, and the archon model we have is rubbish, it looks like a child designed it. Most of the haemonculi coven range is still monopose finecast and personally, I think they look hideous, there's so much more that can be done with the Hellraiser aesthetic. Some of our vehicles are still resin, as well as mandrakes, the court, and the beast pack. These models are being rotated out so you can't even buy them anymore, we can only hope we get plastic kits in the next 2-20 years. To top all this off, they finally release the Hand of the Archon kill team as a single release but didn't bother to give the faction any new rules or data cards. That was honestly the last nail in the coffin, I'm done with Drukhari for a while because it sure seems GW doesn't give a fuck about the faction.

As a Tau player in since 9th edition, 1st edition kill team and now 10th edition I would love to see a gue'vesa(human) tua infantry models and prototype battlesuits and weapons including experimantal equipment and weapons like a hound battle suite with has very good movement and scouting or a nova-esque cannon on a supremacy armour For me, I have kit bashed parts from Tau kill team box with my team

Im just waiting for an updated tyberos miniature. The original looks good but lorewise is pretty bad. For example tyberos is not even standard marine size, he is PRIMARCH size. In fact he is so big that they had to use dreadnought parts to modify his terminator armor because it was to small for him.

On the subject of T'au orks, I believe it's official lore that the T'au TRIED to talk to them, but were so unsuccessful that they now have a "kill on sight" order on orks. Same as with Tyranids

I think an issue here is that the old metal moulds were so much cheaper to make. A new injection mould tool can cost £10K plus. Ensuring the machining is correct for the models, but also the cooling for that mould is correct and works correctly. So they will always keep these to an few as they possibly can. I say this working at a company that sells the simulation tools for plastic injection moulding. It is one of the most expensive products on our lists. I don't this we will ever see all the regiments coming back. What would be good is if they could add that to ForgeWorld, which doesn't use the same injection moulding technology. At least I think they don't.

11:38 youre forgetting something crucial, these models come unbuilt and unpainted, and the skill of the person painting it can either make or break a model's look, the difference in levels of detail in the paintjobs the people who painted the dorn and russ you showed are pretty clear to see, the russ is painted flatly, with only minimal highlighting and weathering, whereas the dorn model shown is painted and adorned with far more decals, a much more vibrant and highlighted paintjob with alot more focus on the smaller details, the bits and bobs that give it more personality its weathered, you can see dust around the bottom of the tracks on the hull, faint rust washing on the outer portions of the track pads,lighting and shading on the lenses of the sights, the dorn model is a showcase model with a showcase paintjob, whereas the russ is a model someone built and painted to play the game with, probably along side quite a few others much like it, the detail level put into painting and building these two models are as far apart as night and day, yet with some creative kitbashing, one could easily make a russ outshine a dorn just on the build alone, then add a great paintjob that makes all its details pop just right, and the russ starts to look less dated and more like a foundation upon which one can build an astonishing piece of work. The russ isn't dated, its tried and true, it works as its intended to, the A10 warthog is older than me, its still the go to plane for tank busting even tho they've tried and failed to replace it several times.

Orks? Really? The most customizable army out ther doesn't need much and multi part kits are always better than monopose ones. A 20year old ork model still fits perfectly into a today army, especially with some extra bits glued on for character

I imagine its a financial feedback loop. People dont buy the older scultps so there is less incentive to invest in newer kits. The fact that the old stuff is still available tells you that they are still being sold. For the beancounters who actually run GW there is (sadly) no incentive at all to take the risk on new stuff. Someone would have to make the financial case that warp spiders (to pick one) would be worth redoing when, lets be honest...they arent. Not over and above just leaving be and using the time/money to invest in marine clone 3000.
